<![CDATA[ Latest from Marie Claire in News ]]> https://www.marieclaire.com Tue, 09 Sep 2025 10:00:00 +0000 en <![CDATA[ Exclusive: The King's "Italian Secret Weapon" Is Transforming Sustainable Fashion Through Royal Initiatives ]]> When Frederico Marchetti started internet fashion retailer Yoox.com in 2000, he became one of the pioneers of online shopping—and little did he know that two decades later, he'd be working with King Charles to make the fashion industry more sustainable.

Marchetti, who was born in Ravenna, Italy, details his unlikely career in his memoir, The Geek of Chic, which released on September 9. Speaking to Marie Claire, the businessman shares that despite not having a background in fashion, he was able to build Yoox from the ground up—and later combine forces with Net-a-Porter to become chairman and CEO of the Yoox Net-a-Porter Group. Like The King, Marchetti has always had an interest in sustainability, and he says when it comes to fashion, "I think there will be a kind of a survival of the greenest in a way."

This philosophy led King Charles—then the Prince of Wales—to invite Marchetti to lead his Sustainable Markets Initiative’s Fashion Task Force in 2021, going on to appoint him as a trustee of The King's Foundation the same year. Since then, the monarch has come to rely on Marchetti as his "secret weapon" in sustainability, a claim to fame the tech entrepreneur doesn't take lightly.

Marchetti tells Marie Claire that he exchanges "a lot of" letters with The King, adding, "he loves the fact that I bring action to the table. He calls me, with everybody—and also in these letters—his Italian secret weapon." The monarch is also a great lover of Italian culture and food, and Marchetti shares one such visit the King made to Italy.

"When I went to Rome, in this reception, in this beautiful Quirinale dinner, The King wanted to introduce me to the Italian president as his Italian secret weapon," Marchetti continues with a laugh. "It was funny, the King of England introducing me to the Italian president. It was really a funny moment."

Marchetti earned his "secret weapon" reputation through his innovative projects with both The King's Foundation and the Sustainable Markets Initiative. Through his foundation, the monarch has focused on teaching traditional skills to young people, including farming, horticulture, millinery and fashion design. When he approached Marchetti to "come up with a project" for The King's Foundation, it was something the entrepreneur considered "a big demand."

"Compared to him, I'm a beginner," Marchetti says, referring to The King's long history in sustainable projects. However, he shares it was "pretty easy to connect the dots" to combine another of their shared passions: education. Discussing how craftsmanship is a lost art and not seen as "cool" with younger people, Marchetti shares that he came up with the idea of a program called The Modern Artisan.

Combining artisanal skills with modern data, the initiative gave young designers the opportunity to create a sustainable luxury collection using five years of "big data" from Yoox Net-a-Porter to tap into customer demand. Marchetti says the students "came up with a collection that in two weeks, we sold 50 percent...We sold it better than Gucci or Prada, which is funny."

For King Charles, he certainly practices what he preaches. "He's still wearing the same coat, the camel coat, he's still wearing the same shoes, he's still wearing things that are very old because they are made out of good quality, good craft," Marchetti says of The King. Although he's worked in fashion for decades, Marchetti follows the same philosophy, preferring to wear the same pieces because "they are still beautiful" and "still amazing."

Speaking of The King's dedication to his work, Marchetti calls the monarch "an authentic man" who "really cares about the planet." The Geek of Chic author adds, "He's such a hard worker, really, on sustainability. I've never seen anybody so committed like him." Marchetti also appreciates The King's "good British humor", admitting that they have "a great relationship" but they're also "an odd couple."

"I admit it now because a tech entrepreneur with the King of England, it's weird. But it's working. It's working very well," he tells Marie Claire.

One of the biggest projects Marchetti is working on through The King's Sustainable Markets Initiative is a "digital product passport" that gives consumers information about exactly where a garment is sourced. Working with Armani on regenerative cotton T-shirts, Marchetti says that customers will be able to see the journey of the product down to photos of the exact fields where the cotton was grown. The project has quickly drawn interest from other designers, with Marchetti saying inquiries have come in from "basically most of the luxury brands, Italian and French."

Marchetti was a longtime friend of Giorgio Armani, who died following our interview. In a statement, he calls the legendary designer "a giant" in the fashion world, adding, "For more than thirty years, I was fortunate to share unforgettable moments with Mr. Armani on projects both professional and personal."

"Our common passions and interests more recently led us to work together on a regenerative organic cotton project in Puglia, under the aegis of King Charles III’s sustainable fashion task force," Marchetti continues. "I have also had the privilege of serving with him on the board of his company for many years, where I’ve seen firsthand his unique ability to marry timeless creativity with sharp business sense."

Now that he's stepped down from his role at Yoox Net-a-Porter, Marchetti says he's found great purpose in his work with The King. "I'm living a very happy life because I'm doing beautiful things for the planet, which is even more important than making a profit," he tells Marie Claire. "I think to help the next generation is much more fulfilling than just making money."

<![CDATA[ Teyana Taylor: "Never Ever Be Ashamed Of Being a Lover Girl" ]]> Teyana Taylor isn't afraid to be a "lover girl," to embrace her soft power, to love unconditionally—and her newly released album, Escape Room, proves it tenfold.

"I’ve noticed that people who will make fun of lovers are people who don’t have the ability to love at the full capacity, and they’re jealous of that," Taylor tells Marie Claire editor-in-chief Nikki Ogunnaike for our Changemakers issue cover story (which also happens to be a "Nice Talk" podcast recording).

"You know the quote 'Good girls finish last?' No, good girls finish on their own divine time. Like, I’m going to take my time. And I’m gonna properly love and I’m gonna be a lover girl and I’m gonna be a simp, whatever comes with that. I love to love."

For the singer, dancer and actress, the capacity to love is the ultimate show of strength. "People that don’t have emotional intelligence make fun of lovers," she observes. "I am a soldier of love. I am a love warrior. I am a lover girl and I love everything about it and I’m okay with that. One thing nobody could ever take away from me is the love that I give. Never ever be ashamed of being a lover girl. I think lovers are the most emotionally intelligent."

Taylor's new album has love at its core. "That’s why I’m excited about Escape Room—because I feel like even though there are the ones who make fun of it, everybody is low-key lovers," she says. "It’s just not the cool thing to do because we’re in a prideful and very egocentric time of music right now. But what I want is to create a safe space for women to be able to love again and to create that safe space for men to be gentle and to be lovers because they want to feel protected too. This album opens up that dialogue."

The artist couldn't be prouder of this album. In a recent interview with InStyle, she gushed, "Oh my God, the album is so good." It's her offering to the world, she says. It "takes you through every single stage of vulnerability, from heartbreak to repair, from heartbreak to healing… I think it's so universal that you can literally customize it to fit you."

<![CDATA[ Teyana Taylor Drops a Major Hint About Starting a Fashion Line ]]> This past May, Teyana Taylor made jaws drop with her Met Gala look. "I immediately thought of André Leon Talley, the ultimate Black dandy who loved nothing more than to dress in a dramatic cape," Marie Claire fashion editor Lauren Tappan wrote at the time.

Speaking to editor-in-chief Nikki Ogunnaike for the cover of Marie Claire's Changemakers issue—an interview also recorded for Ogunnaike's podcast "Nice Talk"—Taylor opens up about working on the look with the legendary Carter.

"Honestly, I am very humble and I’m very modest when it comes to speaking about myself," she says.

"But like, when you get to work with the Ruth E. Carter, if you thought for one second, I thought that outfit was going to be anything less than amazing. Like, baby, if I wasn’t invited to the Met, I was sneaking on that carpet and I was getting Best Dressed." (Of course the multi-hyphenate star made it onto Marie Claire's Best Dressed list.)

"When you’re working with the Ruth E. Carter, to understand the amount of love and detail that went into that, you already should have known that Ruth was going to come through," Taylor says. "Every bit of praise that we’ve received is exactly how it was supposed to be. And now I say that with all cockiness."

The singer, dancer, actress, and self-described "lover girl" is absolutely not done dipping her toe in the world of fashion, with many red-carpet moments lined up for the fall.

"My God, my fall is amazing," she tells us. "I’m working with some designers, but also I’m working on original pieces that I’m going to design. Let’s just see where that takes me, because maybe that can be the start of my own actual line."

<![CDATA[ The Advice from Beyoncé That Changed Teyana Taylor’s Life ]]> Teyana Taylor's career has traversed many eras—but the singer-songwriter, dancer, actress, beauty icon, and self-described "lover girl" has never strayed from two key principles: an unshakable belief in herself, and the willingness to learn from talented mentors.

As she tells Marie Claire on the Nice Talk podcast with Nikki Ogunnaike—an interview also featured on the cover of Marie Claire's Changemakers issue—these two principles memorably met in the form of life advice from Beyoncé.

Beyoncé is "the one who would help me understand, you’re going to have to invest in yourself to get what you want," Taylor tells Ogunnaike. "I remember just being in a space where I was trying to figure it out, and she was just encouraging me to keep going."

The multi-hyphenate continues, "Never be afraid to invest in yourself. You’re never going to fully get what you want unless you go and do it yourself. That always stuck with me."

Beyoncé has been there for Taylor in a big way throughout her career: she trusted the then-up-and-comer to choreograph on "Ring the Alarm" when Taylor was just 15 years old, as reported by People. (She's now 34.)

"No matter where I’ve ever been, whatever challenges I was going through, wherever I’ve been in my career, feeling stagnant or feeling unseen or unheard, to just hear Beyoncé tell me how proud of me she is, no matter where I am in my life and my career, really inspires me to keep going and just keep following my heart and following my gut," Taylor says.

"See, it may be a little bit different now, because the young'uns coming up are stuck in their own ways," she observes. "Our generation was really willing to be students. I looked at the Beyoncés, the Kanyes, the Pharrells, and I just wanted to soak up knowledge. I was always ready to learn. Even to this day, I’m always willing to be a student, no matter how much I pour into others. I may be a teacher to others, but I’m always still a student. No one is ever above learning."

<![CDATA[ Tate McRae’s Shiny Blowout Is the Epitome of Expensive-Looking Hair ]]> There are celebrities with blowouts, and then there’s Tate McRae. On Sept. 7, the singer attended the VMAs after-party at Crane Club in New York City wearing a stunning cut-out bodysuit that felt fit for the budding superstar. Still, what caught my eye the most was her fresh blowout, which made her hair look like a glistening waterfall.

Let’s start with her hair color, shall we? McRae has mastered the art of the chunky highlight, skillfully blending deep brunette, bronde, and bright blonde shades. The result is a halo-like effect around her face, enhanced further by her blowout. This style features loose curls that highlight McRae’s subtle layers, which fall perfectly over her shoulders thanks to a slightly off-center middle part. Save for a pair of large, black sunglasses, she wore no other accessories, letting her daring one-piece and stunning hair garner all the attention they deserved.

Blowouts are a sure way to give your hair some extra volume, without committing to full-on structured curls. They’re more low-key and effortless—perfect for those who want to look like they just woke up and rolled out of bed looking fabulous. Plus, they’re also a perfect heat-free hairstyle to keep up with daily. So, if the upcoming fall and winter months are about restoring your strands, this is a wonderful style to keep in your back pocket.

Thankfully, blowouts are easier than ever to achieve and maintain at home, so if McCrae’s new ‘do has inspired you to give blowouts a try, keep reading for the products that will make your styling sessions much easier.

<![CDATA[ Meet the Cast of 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty,' Netflix's Latest Hit K-Drama ]]> If you're a fan of period dramas that fill both your heart and your stomach (or if you're on your third rewatch of Mr. Queen), Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is your next must-watch K-drama. Based on the web comic Surviving as Yeonsangun’s Chef, the new genre-bending series follows a virtuoso cook who's magically transported from 2025 to the Joseon era when she comes upon a mysterious ancient cookbook called "Mangunrok." She lands in the crosshairs of one of Korean history's cruelest tyrants; lucky for her, the show's version is more misunderstood dreamboat than unrelenting despot.

Since its premiere on August 23, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty has become appointment viewing, earning the highest domestic ratings of any tvN drama this year and a firm spot in Netflix's Top 10 for non-English shows. With the romance K-drama airing weekly through September, it's time to learn more about the global superstars and acclaimed actors bringing the time-bending court intrigue to life. Below, learn everything you need to know about the cast of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.

Lim Yoon-a as Yeon Ji-yeong

A woman (Lim Yoon-a) cooks with wooden utensils in a Joseon-era room, in 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty.'

When we first meet Yeon Ji-yeong in 2025, she's an acclaimed chef who has just won the grandest cooking competition in France. After crash-landing in Joseon, she utilizes her anachronistic cooking skills and knowledge of history to keep the favor of the king and survive until she can find a way home.

Lim Yoon-a (a.k.a. Yoona), 35, is an actress and K-pop singer who debuted in 2007 as a member of the legendary girl group Girls' Generation. She made her K-drama debut in the same year, and has appeared in dramas including You Are My Destiny, Cinderella Man, The K2, The King in Love, Big Mouth, and King the Land. She has also starred in movies including the Confidential Assignment franchise, Exit, A Year-End Medley, and Pretty Crazy.

Lee Chae-min as King Yi-heon

A man (Lee Chae-min) wears a Joseon-era royal traveling outfit, with a feathered hat and tassel, in 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty.'

Joseon's monarch Yi-heon is an erratic tyrant who's despised for his practice of abducting women and bringing them to the palace as "entertainers," known as "chaehong" (This is inspired by the real-life ruler Yeonsangun.) We soon learn that all his cruelty (including the chaehong) is part of his single-minded mission to get revenge for his mother's murder. As each of Ji-young's meals reminds him of his late mother, his heart starts to soften toward the cook.

Lee Chae-min, 24, has had a meteoric rise as an actor and TV personality since his debut in 2021. He's best known for the romance dramas Crash Course in Romance, See You in My 19th Life, Hierarchy, and Crushology 101. He also co-hosted Music Bank (one of Korea's music shows, similar to TRL) alongside LE SSERAFIM member Hong Eunchae from September 2022 to May 2024. (Fun fact: He's publicly dating his Crash Course in Romance co-star Ryu Da-in.)

Kang Han-na as Kang Mok-ju

A woman (Kang Han-na) sits on the floor wearing a Joseon-era noblewoman outfit, in 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty.'

Seven years ago, Kang Mok-ju was imprisoned for killing the nobleman who had bought her from her mother. Prince Je-san freed her and installed her as Yi-heon's junior consort, to aid in the prince's plots. When the mysterious Ji-yeong begins winning Yi-heon's favor, Mok-ju becomes determined to get her out of the picture.

Kang Han-na, 36, earned a Baeksang Arts Award nomination in 2017 for her breakout role as the villainous princess in the historical romance Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. Her best-known roles include the dramas Familiar Wife, Start-Up, My Roommate is a Gumiho, Bloody Heart, and Frankly Speaking. As for Korean reality shows, she has made the most guest appearances in the history of the variety show Running Man, and she recently served as a host/mentor on Netflix's dating show Better Late Than Single.

Choi Gwi-hwa as Prince Je-san

A bearded man (Choi Gwi-hwa) wears a Joseon-era hat and robes, in 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty.'

Prince Je-san, Yi-heon's uncle and the half-brother of the previous king, holds the position of head of the Royal Kitchen. On the surface, Je-san's a hedonistic playboy who's criticized for his scandalous life, but he's secretly been plotting to seize the crown.

Choi Gwi-hwa, 47, is a familiar face to Netflix fans; earlier this year, he had a featured role as Player 203 in Squid Game season 3. The veteran actor is best known for his film roles—including in iconic Korean horror movies like The Wailing and Train to Busan—though he also had a main role in the 2018 Korean remake of Suits.

Seo Yi-sook as Queen Dowager In-ju

An older woman (Seo Yi-sook) wears a Joseon-era noblewoman outfit while sitting in a room at a dinner table, in 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty.'

Queen Dowager In-ju is the matriarch and the highest authority in the royal family, after losing both her husband and her son. Though she's the one who placed her biological grandson Yi-heon on the throne, they butt heads due to his mood swings (and the monumental secret she's hiding).

Seo Yi-sook, 58, started her career as a stage actress before making her film debut in the 1998 drama Spring In My Hometown. Since 2010, she has appeared in dozens of dramas, including The Heirs, Empress Ki, Mother, Hotel de Luna, The World of the Married, Start-Up, Under the Queen's Umbrella, Queenmaker, The Good Bad Mother, and Melo Movie.

Oh Eui-shik as Im Song-jae

A man (Oh Eui-shik) wearing Joseon-era Korean clothing, in 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty.'

Im Song-jae is the king's Chief State Councilor, a cunning strategist and trusted advisor. Sick of being ordered around by Mok-ju, he enlists Ji-young to slip him the information she learns from her meals with Yi-heon.

Oh Eui-shik, 41, began his career as a child actor in stage musicals. In 2015, he made his K-drama debut in the rom-com Oh My Ghost. He has since appeared in beloved romance dramas including Love in the Moonlight, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, While You Were Sleeping, Familiar Wife, Romance is a Bonus Book, True Beauty, Crash Course in Romance, and Undercover High School.

Yoon Seo-ah as Seo Gil-geum

A woman (Lim Yoon-a) stirs a wooden spoon in a small bowl as another woman (Yeon Seo-ah) peeks over her shoulder, in 'Bon Appetit, Your Majesty.'

Soon after Ji-young arrives in Joseon, she meets Seo Gil-geum, an orphan whose home had been seized as part of the prince's hunting ground. Surprisingly, Gil-geum immediately believes that Ji-young is from the future, and the Joseon girl becomes the modern cook's closest confidant.

Yoon Seo-ah, 24, began working as a teen actress before her breakout role as Ji-wan, an art student who falls in love with her female best friend, in Nevertheless,. She has since appeared in supporting roles in dramas like Bloody Heart, Today's Webtoon, Goodbye Earth, and The Tale of Lady Ok.

Lee Joo-ahn as Gong-gil

Gong-gil is a member of the "namsadang," a group of all-male entertainers who serve as jesters for the king. The agile performer is enlisted for several nefarious jobs from both sides of the Yi-heon/Je-san power struggle. (Fun fact: Gong-gil is a real historic figure who was Yeonsangun's "favorite clown," even depicted in the 2005 film The King and the Clown.)

Lee Joo-ahn, 29, made his acting debut in 2018 as an orthopedic resident in the hit thriller K-drama SKY Castle. He has since appeared in supporting roles in popular dramas, including Save Me season 2, Chief of Staff season 2, True Beauty, Youth of May, Snowdrop, and Love Song for Illusion.

<![CDATA[ Princess Diana "Hated" Royal Family's "Barbaric" Hunting Tradition, But Had "Ritual Blood Smeared on Her Face" to Please King Charles ]]> Princess Diana's marriage to King Charles was allegedly rather turbulent. According to a former royal butler who worked with the pair, Princess Diana put a ton of effort into making her marriage work. In fact, the former Princess of Wales reportedly went so far as to embrace a gruesome Royal Family tradition, which Princess Kate has already forbidden her children from taking part in.

In the new book, The Royal Insider: My Life with The Queen, The King, and Princess Diana—which is being serialized by the Daily Mail—former royal butler Paul Burrell explained, "[Diana] disliked country pursuits: horses, shooting, mud, and particularly hunting, which she thought was barbaric. But she tried so hard to please her husband."

Elaborating on Diana's dislike of hunting, Burrell wrote, "I remember her returning from her first stalking party at Balmoral. She hated every moment of it: watching the deer's belly being slit with the entrails coming out and the ritual blood smeared on her face."

However, the reason Princess Diana allegedly agreed to take part in the horrifying act was simple, according to Burrell: "She did it for Charles."

The former royal butler alleged that Diana made many personal revelations to him during his tenure. According to Burrell, Diana told him, "[Charles] never wanted a lover. He wanted a mother." Despite any misgivings the princess might have had about her husband, "she always loved Charles," Burrell claimed.

According to Burrell, "Diana once told me that Charles had told her in the middle of one of their epic arguments: 'I never loved you. I only married you to have children.'" Sadly, the issues inherent in Diana and Charles's marriage escalated further, and the pair announced their separation in 1992. They would finalize their divorce in 1996, one year before Diana's death.

<![CDATA[ Don't Panic—The Lipstick Doja Cat Ate at the VMAs Was Actually Made of Chocolate ]]> I obviously don't know this from experience, but after a few hours spent on a red carpet, I'd imagine some celebrities might need a snack break every so often. That has to explain why Doja Cat attended the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards in full '80s glam and proceeded to eat (yes, actually eat) the bright red lipstick she was wearing.

The rapper/singer is gearing up to release her '80s-inspired fifth studio album, Vie, and for the last several weeks as she's been promoting it, she's been in full character, wearing everything from a platinum blonde mullet to last night's look, a voluminous, creamy blonde blowout with feathery bangs. She brought the whole look together with thin eyebrows, bright nails, and a deep red lip.

While doing press on the red carpet, Doja Cat decided to give her lipstick a little touch up—but she wouldn't be Doja Cat if she had just let the moment end there. She took things a step further and took a bite out of the lipstick (and swallowed it!) in front of the cameras.

Thankfully, Doja Cat wasn't eating the lipstick because she was in desperate need of a snack—it was actually a stunt to draw attention to the fact that she's recently been named an ambassador for MAC Cosmetics, and she was wearing the brand's MACximal Silky Matte Lipstick in the shade "Lady Danger."

“I’ve been a MAC girl forever, and now I get to take that love to the global stage,” she said in a statement. “Makeup is my paint, my armor, my way of creating characters—and MAC has always stood for that kind of artistry and freedom. We’re going to push it even further and make people see beauty in a whole new way.” In the same statement, MAC also revealed that the lipstick was actually an edible chocolate replica of "Lady Danger" made by pastry chef Amaury Guichon, which is great news for me, since I was horrified at the thought of how a waxy lipstick would've settled in her stomach if she actually ate the real thing.

Is it kind of an insane way to market a lipstick? Sure. Would it absolutely work on me? Unfortunately, yes. Shop the non-edible version of "Lady Danger" ahead.

<![CDATA[ Selena Gomez Teases a New Rare Beauty Product With Dark Cherry Red Nails ]]> Selena Gomez offered a sneak peek of a new Rare Beauty launch and inadvertently showed off a new fall manicure in the process. On Sept. 8th, the beauty mogul and actress shared a photo of an upcoming product from her makeup brand. Some might call it nosy (I call it journalism), but upon closer inspection, the item looks like a lip butter, which feels perfectly timed for the upcoming cool weather. New product tease aside, Gomez is reigniting a 2024 manicure trend, and if it hasn’t already, this shade is about to flood your social media feeds.

Gomez’s nails were shaped into a short, squared-oval style, opting out of any extensions. Each nail was painted a deep cherry red shade, which was the color of fall ‘24. No additional nail art was added, letting the bold hue stand out against Gomez’s skin tone.

Cherry red nails feel like the perfect pop of color to any outfit, and I have a strong feeling that they will be spotted quite frequently during New York Fashion Week, which is just a few days away. Other Hollywood starlets, like Jessica Alba, have recently been seen in a similar manicure, and Simone Biles showcased a polka dot version in a close color family, a wine red.

If Hollywood's trends are any indication, this style will continue into autumn and winter 2025, so I'll be here getting my cherry red nails in order. If you’re also an at-home nail lover, keep reading for the products I’ll be using to achieve the look, with both gel and traditional nail polishes.

<![CDATA[ Brittany Snow Brings 'The Hunting Wives' "Very Texas" Style to the 2025 MTV VMAs ]]> This is The Close-Up, where the biggest names in entertainment explain the story behind their latest personal style statement.

On the Netflix honky-tonk thriller The Hunting Wives, Brittany Snow's character doesn't have much time to think about her outfits. She plays Sophie, a Boston mom thrown into the heart of a deep Texas social circle. Her Birkenstocks and sensible shirts stand out among a sea of Tecovas cowboy boots and extra-large belt buckles.

Sophie ends up a little too preoccupied with solving a murder within her newfound frenemy group to think about what she's wearing. Snow, on the other hand, wouldn't have minded a yeehaw makeover montage.

"I think throughout the entire show, I was pretty jealous of the other girls getting to wear those Texas numbers," Snow tells me as she's getting ready for the 2025 MTV VMAs red carpet. "I always looking at the girls every day being like, oh my God, how fun to wear such loud, brash outfits."

For her first time attending the VMAs, Snow and her stylist, Yael Quint, decided it was the right moment to embrace the series' over-the-top styling.

"We wanted her look to be classic and timeless," Quint says in an email. On the phone, Snow describes her custom Monot dress as "'90s glam, but a little more spicy and sexy." The gilded strapless dress coated in gold is her ode to her show's Texas setting, as well as her character's on-screen entanglement with the girl group's ringleader, Margo, played by Malin Akerman.

A few days before the VMAs, Snow and Quint were choosing between two sequin dresses: the gold one she ultimately picked, or a pink option by another designer. Then Akerman showed Snow her silver gown by Raissa Vanessa, and it was decided. "We thought to ourselves, it has to be the gold one because it's just gonna look so fun that we're playing off of each other," Snow explains, "not only on the show, but on the carpet."

There aren't many chances to do that with your friends, and I think that's why we chose this one," Snow says of coordinating with Akerman. "It's also the better look, I think." Quint amped up its glam quotient with Betzabe heels and Dorsey earrings sourced from the jewelry brand's new collection.

The 2025 VMAs would be Snow and Akerman's second consecutive event together that weekend. They had both attended the Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles the night before, in contrasting dresses: Snow in a mint green, scallop-neckline sheath, and Akerman in a gold-and-black two-piece.

Jetting from coast to coast as a team made the whole weekend more invigorating than exhausting for Snow. In real life, their friendship is much healthier than their on-screen counterparts. "Thank goodness Malin was with me, because we sort of made it fun," she says. "I brought these Korean face masks we did on the plane. We had glasses of champagne, and we were debriefing the Creative Emmys we presented at, and we were excited for the VMAs. That just made it so much smoother, because we haven't actually been in the same place in a while."

Snow and Ackerman's chemistry led to attention on and off the red carpet this summer. The Hunting Wives had the highest streaming time of any series during its premiere week, per The Hollywood Reporter. Still, Snow admits she "didn't think anyone would even see it." Its debut in July also didn't include a dedicated red carpet. So, while the VMAs gave Snow a front-row seat to major performances (like Sabrina Carpenter's) and her childhood favorites (like Ricky Martin), it was also her moment to celebrate a project she hadn't yet had a chance to toast.

Her summary of the getting-ready process could be a synopsis of The Hunting Wives' highly anticipated second season. "There's lots of gold, there's lots of secrets, there's lots of hair," Snow says. "It does feel very Texas in here."

<![CDATA[ Former Royal Butler Says Princess Diana Felt She "Had to Pretend and Put on a Facade for the World" When Her Marriage to King Charles Started Failing ]]> Princess Diana's marriage to King Charles was far from perfect, and both royals publicly discussed their failed relationship. Now, a former royal employee is opening up about alleged revelations Diana made about coping with the demise of her marriage, which included pretending in front of onlookers.

In his new book, The Royal Insider: My Life with The Queen, The King, and Princess Diana, former royal butler Paul Burrell shared many revelations about the couple. In an excerpt serialized by the Daily Mail, Burrell explained, "It wasn't until Harry was born on September 15, 1984...that her fate was confirmed."

According to Burrell, King Charles remarked on Prince Harry's red hair—a trait inherited from the Spencer family. However, Burrell alleged that, according to Diana, that was the moment her relationship with Charles came to an end.

"Then came the damning blow," Burrell wrote. "He said: 'Well at least I've got my heir and spare now and I can return to Camilla.'"

Burrell continued, "She told me: 'I cried myself to sleep that night knowing that my marriage was over. I gave him four good years and he was gone. And for the rest of the time I had to pretend and put on a facade for the world.'"

Tragically, Princess Diana was reportedly committed to her marriage, and didn't want the relationship to end. Burrell explained, "Diana never wanted a divorce. Despite everything that happened, I have no doubt that Diana fell in love with Prince Charles. Unfortunately for Diana, the feeling was not mutual."

Recounting a terrible exchange between the pair, Burrell wrote, "Diana once told me that Charles had told her in the middle of one of their epic arguments: 'I never loved you. I only married you to have children.'"

Diana and Charles would announce their separation in 1992, before finalizing their divorce in 1996.

<![CDATA[ Princess Eugenie Takes Her Polka Dot Dress From Buckingham Palace Garden Party to Seoul Nightclub ]]> Buckingham Palace garden parties are a highlight of the spring social calendar each year, and Princess Eugenie supported uncle King Charles and cousin Prince William by attending one of the events on May 20. Wearing a navy polka dot midi dress and oversized blue hat, Eugenie sparkled in a pair of $20,000 Garrard earrings. But the princess proved that her Rixo midi dress was just as versatile for a night on the town, wearing the same piece in a video shared on Instagram September 7.

In a video shared by nightclub owner Mini Han, DJ Peggy Gou teaches Princess Eugenie some dance steps. Per Hello!, the duo did a routine to (It Goes Like) Nanana, with the royal dressed in the same Rixo midi—sans garden party hat—as she waved her arms in the air to the beat.

Eugenie wore her hair pulled back in the red-hued club, wearing a pair of dangling earrings and a long pendant necklace with the dotted dress. Gou also got in on the polka dot trend, wearing a plunging halter-neck design with tiny white spots.

Her $540 Rixo dress is also available in a red polka dot style as well as an animal print and floral print designs. The London-based label is also a favorite of Princess Kate, who has worn several pieces by Rixo including a brown polka dot dress while taking her kids to their first day at Lambrook School in 2022.

Along with her garden party outing, Princess Eugenie made appearances at Royal Ascot and a Tate Modern gala this summer before enjoying the end of the season with her kids. The princess, who is mom to 2-year-old son Ernest and 4-year-old son August, also welcomed some famous friends to her second home in Portugal, as seen in photos shared by Robbie Williams's wife, Ayda Field Williams, in early August.

Eugenie wore a smocked green Michael Kors maxi dress in one snapshot with her friend Ayda, going casual in a striped button up shirt and baseball cap in another pic. The princess also paid tribute to big sis Princess Beatrice in August, writing, "Happy happy birthday to my dearest Beabea.. my big sissy, the best in the entire world."

<![CDATA[ Princess Diana Once Revealed King Charles Said He "Never Loved" Her During "One of Their Epic Arguments," Royal Butler Claims ]]> Much has been reported about Princess Diana and King Charles's tumultuous relationship, with Netflix's The Crown dedicating multiple seasons to their romance. Now, a former royal employee is opening up about alleged insights Princess Diana shared about arguments she had with King Charles while they were still married.

Diana and Charles announced their separation in 1992, and finalized their divorce on August 28, 1996. In his new book, The Royal Insider: My Life with The Queen, The King, and Princess Diana, former royal butler Paul Burrell shares many revelations about the couple.

Burrell wrote in the book, which is being serialized by the Daily Mail, "Diana once told me that Charles had told her in the middle of one of their epic arguments: 'I never loved you. I only married you to have children.'"

Recalling his experiences working for King Charles and Princess Diana, Burrell explained, "I didn't realize that I had entered a war zone when I left The Queen's service in 1987 to work for Charles and Diana."

According to the former butler, Diana told him, "He never wanted a lover. He wanted a mother." He continued, "She always loved Charles, but she despised Camilla Parker Bowles, the 'other woman.'"

Burrell also reflected on the demise of Charles and Diana's marriage, claiming that the princess shared many private insights about the downfall with him.

"It wasn't until Harry was born on September 15, 1984, just over two years later, that her fate was confirmed," the former butler explained, "Charles came into the hospital room, looked in the cot and said: 'Oh, red hair.'"

Diana reportedly responded that red hair runs in the Spencer family, but this allegedly didn't placate Charles. "He said: 'Well at least I've got my heir and spare now and I can return to Camilla,'" the former butler alleged.

The then-Princess of Wales reportedly told Burrell, "I cried myself to sleep that night knowing that my marriage was over."

<![CDATA[ The Most Stunning Beauty Looks at the 2025 MTV VMAs ]]> ICYMI: The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards took place on Sunday, Sept. 7, and as expected, the celebrities in attendance pulled out some of their very best looks for the red carpet and ceremony. At an award show like the VMAs, one would expect for the fashion to be the only thing that's over the top, and while that was definitely proven true for last night's event, the beauty looks before and during the show were also worthy of their own awards.

Last night's red carpet was ripe with beauty moments that'll bring you to your knees, from the slickest of slick ponytails to classic French manicures. The Marie Claire beauty team was particularly fawning over FKA Twigs's braided headphones hairstyle while the rest of the internet was obsessed with Doja Cat's '80s-style blowout. But there's plenty (and I do mean plenty) more where that came from.

Read ahead to see some of our favorite beauty moments from the 2025 MTV VMAs.

Doja Cat

a woman with a curly, blonde blowout wearing red lipstick and standing on a red carpet in front of a black, red, and white background

Doja Cat hasn't been subtle at all about the direction she's taking with her next era of music. Before hitting the stage to perform her new single, "Jealous Type," the rapper/singer showed up on the red carpet with her hair styled in a voluminous, curly, '80s-style blowout with feathered bangs. She brought the whole look home with a bright red lip and red nail polish.

FKA Twigs

a woman wearing a braided hairstyle and a blood red cropped top with long sleeves

Never one to not stun on a red carpet, FKA Twigs showed up wearing a jaw-dropping braided hairstyle that featured cornrows woven into an updo meant to look like a set of headphones. A true hair as art moment!

Lady Gaga

lady gaga on stage wearing an all black gown with her hair in an updo with flower attachments

Lady Gaga took a short break from her Mayhem Ball tour to accept the Moon Man for "Artist of the Year" last night. She showed up in gothic glam, as her jet black hair was pulled into a messy updo with blunt bangs. She wore a deep red lip color and accessorized by adding blood red flower clips to her hair.

Sabrina Carpenter

a woman's bedazzled french manicure pressed against a lacy red gown and pink fur shawl

Sabrina Carpenter hit the red carpet in a custom, lace Valentino naked dress, but it was her nails that I couldn't keep my eyes off of. The "Manchild" singer wore her signature French manicure style with an almond shape, but instead of traditional white tips, she went all out with colorful rhinestones.

Ariana Grande

Speaking of French manicures, Ariana Grande kept her nails traditional with an almond shape, a nude base, and classic white tips.

Ciara

Ciara kept things pretty simple, styling her hair in a long ponytail that's so slick, it deserves some applause.

Tyla

a woman with a short bob wearing a short dress posing in front of a black, red, and white backdrop

Tyla proved once again that the blunt bob isn't going anywhere. The "Push 2 Start" singer showed up with her hair cut into an asymmetrical blunt bob with two cornrows on the right side to mimic a side part.

Ice Spice

a woman with pink hair wearing a corset top and a blue maxi skirt in front of a black, red, and white background

Ice Spice ditched her signature ginger hair color for a cotton candy pink hue that she pulled into a messy updo with bangs.

Megan Moroney

a woman with a high bun wearing a metallic sleeveless gown on a red carpet

Last night's red carpet was overflowing with '90s-style prom hair. Case in point, singer Megan Moroney, who wore her blonde hair in a twisted updo with a middle part. She left out two small pieces of hair at the front of her head to frame her face.

Ashlee Simpson

a woman with long, wavy, curly, red hair wearing smokey eye makeup and posing for a photo in front of a black background

Ashlee Simpson unintentionally gave me some nostalgia for the early 2000s with her long, copper hair styled in crimped waves. She paired the look with a brown smokey eye and a nude lip.

Justine Skye

a black woman with curly, honey blonde hair, blonde eyebrows, and smokey eye makeup in front of a black background

After a recent stint with micro braids, Justine Skye switched things up and wore her honey blonde hair in its naturally curly state on Sunday night. She also wore bleached brows, a '90s supermodel lip complete with dark liner and lip gloss, and smokey, black eye makeup.

Shenseea

a woman with honey blonde hair pulled up into an updo

Again—celebrities couldn't get enough of the updos last night! Singer Shenseea appeared on the red carpet with her golden brown hair styled in a high updo with tight curls. She completed the look with a piecey side bang that was also curled.

Audrey Nuna

a woman wearing all black with her hair styled into a sculptural updo

Singer and KPop Demon Hunters star Audrey Nuna showed up wearing a stunning half-up, half-down sculptural hairstyle featuring gold jewelry.

Olandria Carthen

a woman with a bright red strapless dress, a red choker, and red gloves posing in front of a black, red, and white background

The Love Island star stunned in a red corset dress with a sheer train along with a spiky Y2K updo.

Taylor Momsen

a woman with blonde hair wearing an all black outfit in front of a black, red, and white background

The Gossip Girl alum made an appearance on the red carpet wearing her signature grunge makeup look: black eyeshadow swiped across her eyelids and the surrounding area. Her platinum blonde hair was styled in soft waves.

Brittany Snow

The Hunting Wives actress showed up wearing glamorous Old Hollywood-style curls with a side part and, of course, her signature blonde highlights.

<![CDATA[ Close Friend Says Prince Harry "Wants to Be Able to Show" Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet "Where He Grew Up" One Day ]]> On Sept. 8, Prince Harry returned to the U.K., where he paid tribute to his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. The Duke of Sussex will also attend a number of important engagements during the trip, and is rumored to reunite with his father, King Charles. Plus, according to one of Harry's friends, the prince hasn't "given up hope" when it comes to bringing his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to England in the future.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, one of Prince Harry's close friends explained, "He's not given up hope on bringing his family back to the [United Kingdom]. He wants to be able to show his children where he grew up. He wants them to know their family here." The source continued, "He really would like to come back to the U.K. much more."

The friend also told the newspaper that Prince Harry hopes to "to have some fun" during his current visit.

Prince Harry lost his court battle regarding the removal of his private security earlier this year. Since then, the Duke of Sussex has expressed the very credible fear he has about traveling to the U.K. with his wife and young children.

In May 2025, he told the BBC, "I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious." He continued, "I can't see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point."

As for whether or not Prince Harry will reunite with his dad, King Charles, during his current trip, one of the duke's friends told The Sunday Times, "He's made it absolutely clear he wants a reconciliation with his family. It's on them now."

<![CDATA[ Twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella of Monaco Are Just Like Any Tweens With Relatable Backpacks You Can Find at Walmart ]]> Children around the world have marked the first day of school in the past few weeks, and on Monday, September 8, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene's 10-year-old twins joined the club. Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella posed for pictures on their parents' official Instagram account—and the pre-teens showed off their interests with affordable blue backpacks that are currently in stock at Walmart.

"This Monday morning, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella returned to school. 🎒," the palace's Instagram post read. "A new academic year full of discoveries, friendships, and adventures awaits them. The Princely Family wishes all students in the Principality a wonderful start to the school year!"

In the photos, Jacques and Gabriella—who attend private Catholic school François d'Assise-Nicolas Barré—hold hands as they wear matching red uniform polo shirts. Princess Gabriella pairs her polo with a navy skirt and matching hair bow in the snapshots, while Jacques wears a pair of dark jeans. In one adorable image, the twins reveal the designs on their backpacks, holding hands once again as they turn away from the camera.

Although Prince Jacques might be the heir to Monaco's throne, he appears to be a fan of playing Roblox, just like many kids his age. His under $20 tile-patterned blue backpack features a character from the popular online game on the back along with the Roblox logo. Meanwhile, Princess Gabriella seems to be into Kawaii and is carrying a baby blue backpack with the Sanrio character Cinnamoroll to school this year.

The twins finished up their summer break with a royal engagement on September 6, joining their parents at U Cavagnëtu, a traditional Monagasque picnic. During the event, Prince Jacques looked like a mini me of his father, wearing a navy blazer and white shirt similar to Prince Albert's with a pair of khaki pants. Meanwhile, Princess Gabriella channeled her designer-loving mom in an adorable green floral dress by Dior Kids.

Unlike Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who largely stay out of the spotlight, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella frequently make official appearances with their parents. Last year, the twins stole fans' hearts when they dressed up for National Day in November, with Jacques wearing a tiny version of his father's military uniform and Gabriella matching with her mom in a lavender coat dress.

<![CDATA[ The Best-Dressed Stars at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival Are the Fashion Month Warm-Up I Needed ]]> Before Fashion Month finally kicks off in New York City on September 11, there's one more major red carpet event to take in: the Toronto International Film Festival. Some years, Toronto gets overlooked between the glitzy boat rides of the Venice Film Festival, the textbook memorable outfits at the MTV VMAs, and all the A-list sightings in the front rows from NYC to Paris. But this year, I've found the Toronto International Film Festival's best-dressed stars to have some of the most noteworthy interpretations of the very same designers fashion people will be discussing in a few days' time.

In Venice, labels including Dior, Chanel, and Versace soft-launched their incoming creative directors' new visions—and new ambassadors. Some of that same thread was picked up across the Atlantic, as Anya Taylor-Joy arrived in her own custom Dior moment by Jonathan Anderson and at least two names tried on Alessandro Michele's new-ish Valentino for size. I've also noticed an uptick in labels from the halls of London Fashion Week (like Erdem, chosen by Sydney Sweeney) and some copy-pastes from Paris staples (like Saint Laurent, picked by Tessa Thompson).

So far, the best-dressed stars at the Toronto International Film Festival are celebrating their upcoming projects in names that everyone will be talking about this month. I can think of no better warm-up for the international runway circuit than this refresher on luxury's favorite clients and their red carpet staples.

Anya Taylor-Joy wearing Dior

Anyone worried that Anya Taylor-Joy's streak as a Dior muse would end with a new creative director can rest easy now. The star arrived at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival in a custom look by Jonathan Anderson that picked up where his debuts in Venice left off. A quintessentially Dior shade of baby blue transformed from an elegant sheath shape up top to a skirt extending away from Taylor-Joy's body, composed of several interwoven ribbons. As one of the potentially final glimpses at Anderson's womenswear before his runway debut in Paris, it was a gift to behold.

Maude Apatow wearing Valentino

Maude Apatow's first Toronto International Film Festival as a director was always going to feel special. But for the premiere of Poetic License, she and stylist Mimi Cuttrell decided on an agenda-setting look by Alessandro Michele's Valentino. The cheery pink satin and feather-dusted cape said the rising star can have her serious career milestone and have fun, too.

Tessa Thompson wearing Saint Laurent

stars arrive at the 2025 toronto international film festival

I had a hard time choosing my favorite of Tessa Thompson's Toronto International Film Festival looks. A runway Chanel strapless dress—complete with pockets—definitely surprised me with its elegant practicality. But I ultimately had to choose the actress's funnel-neck mini from Saint Laurent's Fall 2025 runway. Stylist Karla Welch delivered an off-the-catwalk moment to remember, between the rich shade of red, the sharp-as-knives heels, and the nod to one of Paris Fashion Week's most anticipated collections.

Elizabeth Olsen wearing Emilia Wickstead

stars arrive at the 2025 toronto international film festival

There's more to Elizabeth Olsen's Emilia Wickstead Fall 2025 gown than meets the eye. The London Fashion Week standout's sequin-coated gown has slightly off-kilter shoulders and an entirely open back—which Olsen made sure to emphasize on the step-and-repeat. This is the sort of black dress that's understated, but still eye-catching with its all-over sequins.

Angelina Jolie wearing Gabriela Hearst

stars arrive at the 2025 toronto international film festival

Angelina Jolie and Gabriela Hearst are one of the red carpet's most enduring duos. The actress kept their spirit of collaboration alive on the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival red carpet, when she styled one of the label's longline trench coats as a fall dress. A flash of semi-sheer tights and a pointed-toe pump transformed her outerwear from another seasonal layer to a photo-worthy moment.

Nia DaCosta wearing Zimmermann

stars arrive at the 2025 toronto international film festival

The average fashion-phile might think of Zimmermann mostly as a destination for ruffled floral dresses and Katie Holmes-approved trenches. But as Nia DaCosta reminded me at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Hedda, the brand is just as skilled at understated boho pieces. Her cream turtleneck dress only needed its billowing, cape-like sleeves to make a statement—and make me excited for Zimmermann's upcoming runway in Paris.

Shailene Woodley wearing Dolce & Gabbana

stars arrive at the 2025 toronto international film festival

Shailene Woodley started her fall mini dress streak at the 2025 Venice Film Festival, in a Kallmeyer LBD Zoë Kravitz also owns. She kept the party dressing energy up at the Venice International Film Festival, where stylist Alexandra Imgruth sourced a sparkling Fall 2025 Dolce & Gabbana mini. The dress was styled with a punk-rock bralette and knee-high boots on the runway, but Woodley opted for more work-appropriate pumps—and an opaque liner—for her premiere.

Kirsten Dunst wearing Valentino

stars arrive at the 2025 toronto international film festival

Valentino's red carpet sweep continued when Samantha McMillen and Kirsten Dunst sourced this cut-out Resort 2026 gown for the Toronto International Film Festival premiere for Roofman. Delicate Sophie Bille Brahe jewelry perfectly complemented the softness of the gown's gauzy-like fabric and trains off each arm.

Sydney Sweeney wearing custom Erdem

stars arrive at the 2025 toronto international film festival

Sydney Sweeney and stylist Molly Dickson contrasted the rough-and-tumble nature of the actress's boxing biopic, Christy, with a princess-like custom gown by Erdem. Designer Erdem Moralioglu, a reliable favorite on the London Fashion Week calendar, combined Sweeney's penchant for red carpet corsets with a dramatic draped skirt that cascaded from her left hip. Her film is already generating some Oscars buzz—and this is the sort of dress that can help her campaign for the ultimate leading lady trophy.

<![CDATA[ Selena Gomez's Classic White Sneakers Trade Places With Her Trendy Adidas ]]> Selena Gomez was nominated for two Moon Person trophies at the 2025 MTV VMAs, but unlike Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande, she RSVP-ed "maybe next year."

Instead, Gomez was spotted on the opposite coast, boarding a flight out of LAX. She swapped sky-high heels for chunky white sneakers, any A-lister's preferred airport shoes. Similar to the Adidas Superstars in Jennifer Lawrence's closet, Gomez's trainers featured leather uppers and rubber platform soles. The ultra-wide lens makes them tricky to ID from afar. Judging by their black heel tabs and monogrammed laces, I suspect they're a vintage $405 pair from Chanel.

Comfort was clearly the driving force behind Gomez's travel-friendly 'fit, as it should be for any frequent flyer. She paired wide-leg sweatpants with an equally-oversize Free People jean jacket. Its light-wash shade felt quite unexpected for Gomez, given fall's rising indigo denim trend. Prada's Galleria bag, a top-handle tote in Saffiano leather, acted as her small but mighty carry-on.

These white sneakers appear to be a new addition to Gomez's rotation. However, you may recognize her denim jacket from a recent Instagram post. On Sept. 1, the "Who Says" singer confirmed the baggy jacket landed in her vacation suitcase. Instead of her latest shoes, she pulled off the brown sneaker trend with $110 Adidas Spezials. They had all the makings of Adidas Sambas, except with extra-heightened gum-soles.

At this point, Gomez has her in-flight fashion down to a science, starting with ultra-cozy shoes. Last month, she gave Ugg slippers a go while en route to her bachelorette trip in Cabo. White sneakers felt slightly more elevated for the comfort-first star, but even so, right up her minimalist alley.

<![CDATA[ Royal Source Confirms Prince Harry Visited Queen Elizabeth's Grave to "Pay His Respects Privately" After Landing in the U.K. ]]> Prince Harry has returned to the U.K. on Sept. 8, the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's death. The Duke of Sussex has a number of engagements planned during the trip, and he made sure to pay tribute to his late grandmother upon his arrival.

People reported that, as confirmed by Harry's spokesperson, the prince "visited the burial place of the late Queen at St. George's Chapel in Windsor to pay his respects privately and lay a wreath of flowers, three years after the history-making monarch died."

Meanwhile, a royal source told the outlet that Prince Harry is "positive" amid his return to the U.K. from California, where he lives with Meghan Markle, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

"He's in a really good headspace and looking forward to seeing everyone from his charities and the causes he cares about," the source told the publication.

A source previously told Hello! magazine of Harry's international trip, "He's so excited to come back to the [United Kingdom]...He's really positive about coming back to do all the stuff that he loves doing."

Prior to his arrival in the U.K., People revealed that Harry had added a "surprise stop" to his travel itinerary, involving a trip to Nottingham to "announce a major donation to Children in Need and highlight local youth programs."

Alongside attending the WellChild Awards in London, it's thought that Harry will meet with a number of organizations he supports, including Scotty's Little Soldiers, The Invictus Games Foundation, The Diana Award, Epic Partners, and Coach Core. Paying tribute to the late Queen was, quite rightly, first on Harry's agenda upon his arrival.

<![CDATA[ The Street Style Trends Dividing Fashion Girls This NYFW ]]> Not much surprises me anymore after working in fashion for almost a decade. Latex dresses that look like you just took a dip in the pool? Normal. Fur-covered loafer mules? Standard street style! So, it’s no shock that I’m already on board with fall 2025’s most controversial fashion trends. Not only are they surprisingly chic, but I’m already brainstorming ways to incorporate them into my typically non-controversial style.

If you've been paying attention to the fashion cycle, it's easy to track the life cycles of these trends and to identify their origins. Fall's continued boho influence created the balloon pant trend. Bead-style necklaces emerged as a jewelry trend alongside ever-popular cowboy boots, and now the two have merged to revive the bolo tie. Even pre-layered tops and the dresses-over-pants look are back from the early aughts graveyard, serving as the perfect excuse to make even your most basic T-shirts, tank tops, and summer dresses feel new after months of everyday wear.

Trust me—there is something on this list for everyone. Even the minimalists amongst us can get behind incorporating a sleek glove boot into their fall shoe rotation, right? Ahead, get enough inspiration to test the waters.

Balloon Pants

Tired of your summer linen pants? Try a pair of balloon pants this fall. Fashion girls have already embraced the look in Copenhagen, so it was only a matter of time before it made its way to America.

Pre-Layered Pieces

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK - AUGUST 04: A guest wears oversized dark sunglasses and large hoop earrings. The hair is styled straight and loose. A brown suede jacket is draped over the shoulders. Underneath, a black tank top is layered over a white sleeveless top. The jeans are light blue with a faded wash and a flared cut. A black belt with silver studs is worn at the waist. The bag is black leather with a slouchy shape. Pre-layered tops eliminate the hassle of layering your tops. They're the perfect example of one-and-done shopping. My favorites include a cashmere sweater from J.Crew that will instantly refresh my knitwear rotation and a piece from Zara that features not one, but three lightweight layers.

Bolo Ties

I was a latecomer to the bead necklace trend and have spent much of the last week searching for my perfect piece. Along that journey, however, I noticed a new trend emerging: bolo ties. This is the under-the-radar trend I predict will be everywhere this season at New York Fashion Week, so get ahead of it now.

Glove Boots

Put away your 2010s-era sock boots and invest in their cooler older sister, the leather glove boot. Fashion features editor Emma Childs has already named them one of her top fall boot styles to buy. Characterized by their micro-heel and ultra-snug fit around the ankle and calf, these are just edgy enough to spice up your wardrobe without going over the top.

Sneaker Mules

As part of my job, I monitor the biggest sneaker trends of the year, so I've been thinking about sneaker mules for months. Finally, there's a shoe perfectly designed for when you're rushing out the door but still want to look cool.

Dresses Over Pants

If you were a tween between 2004 and 2008, you probably look back on the dresses-over-pants trend with a mix of cringe and nostalgic longing. It's officially back for 2025, but without the Libby Lu "more is more" styling vibe. Instead, choose simple silhouettes like summer's smocked dresses or lacy slips and pair them with classic denim washes for a cool-girl approved look.

<![CDATA[ Princess Kate Says She "Had to Learn the Hard Way" That Prince William Is "Very Fussy About" One Food ]]> Princess Kate has showed off her love of baking a number of times over the years—and has even teamed up with the ultimate dessert queen, Mary Berry. But it turns out that Kate's skills didn’t quite make the mark for Prince William at first, as she revealed to a group of ladies at the National Federation of Women's Institutes (WI) on Monday, September 8. The Princess of Wales, wearing a new plaid dress and updated brown hair color, joined her husband for a visit to the group's Sunningdale, England branch to mark the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's death.

In a video shared by Hello! magazine on Instagram, William and Kate are sitting at a table enjoying some sweet treats with WI members as the Prince of Wales reveals that he’s not a fan of one ingredient in his brownies. "The brownies are..." William said, giving an "okay" gesture with his fingers. "I know my brownies," he added.

"William is very fussy about brownies," the Princess of Wales chimed in, with William confirming, "very fussy about brownies." He then asked, "Do you put nuts in them?" to one WI member, who said she didn’t.

“Never put nuts in a brownie!” William added as Kate burst into laughter. “I had to learn the hard way!” she exclaimed.

The Prince and Princess of Wales visited the WI group in honor of Queen Elizabeth, who was a member of the organization for 80 years and served as its president for 19 years. The WI was founded in 1915 and welcomes women across the U.K. to take part in community building and volunteering activities along with learning skills such as baking, gardening and crafting.

Princess Kate embraced the approaching autumn with her outfit at the engagement, wearing a gray plaid Alessandra Rich dress with an oversized collar. Along with her on-trend fall tartan, she showed off a darker hair color, swapping her headline-making blonde hair for a light brown hue.

Although the Waleses are not scheduled to meet with Prince Harry, he marked Queen Elizabeth's death in his own way on Monday. According to People, the Duke of Sussex made a private visit to his grandmother's grave at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle before his scheduled appearance at the WellChild Awards.

<![CDATA[ The Best 2025 MTV VMAs After-Party Fashion Spotlights One Lingerie-Inspired Look After Another ]]> For me, the 2025 MTV VMAs ended once Ariana Grande accepted the final Moon Person trophy. I needed my beauty sleep: Sabrina Carpenter's Bob Mackie after-party look required my attention this morning. For celebrity guests, on the other hand, the night was still young.

The VIP section inside New York's UBS Arena went from star-studded to vacant in mere minutes. Cars waited outside the Long Island venue to usher Carpenter, Ice Spice, Tate McRae, and more to various after-parties. The evening's hottest ticket was undeniably Carpenter's Studio54-themed bash. The "Espresso" singer's risqué aesthetic incited stars to style lingerie-as-outerwear, starting with Ice Spice.

The "Deli" rapper was photographed outside the Crane Club in Chelsea, wearing the bloomer trend and a coordinating corset. McRae arrived shortly after Ice Spice in her own Carpenter-coded underwear. She layered a halter-neck two-piece underneath a mesh bodysuit. It was entirely sheer, except for hot pants and a criss-cross wrap.

In true award season fashion, Carpenter's event wasn't the only after-hours affair in the city. Ahead, Marie Claire rolled out the red carpet for the best lingerie-inspired after-party looks following the 2025 MTV VMAs.

Sabrina Carpenter's Studio54-ready dress deserved its own 400-word thesis, but I'll applaud it here, too. The hostest-with-the-mostest got her hands on an almost 50-year-old Bob Mackie bodysuit, fringed with grosgrain ribbons and mirrored discs.

Cher debuted the halter-neck design during a 1975 The Cher Show episode, alongside Tina Turner, no less. Both icons sang "Shame Shame Shame" in halter-neck bodysuits, which shimmered just as much as any disco ball.

Cardi B

The "I Like It" rapper was noticeably absent from the ceremony's red carpet. Turns out, she saved her underwear-as-outerwear for the after-hours scene. Stylist Kollin Carter dressed Cardi B in a leopard-print long-sleeve dress with a plunging neckline. Its hip-high slit revealed her saucy stockings, which stopped just above each knee.

Ice Spice

Ice Spice was in a corset-y mood this MTV VMAs. For the Sabrina54 soirée, she ditched her vintage Ralph Lauren set for another two-piece, this time in lavender. (You can thank her new stylist, Timothy Luke Garcia, for both throwback numbers.) Her strapless top had all the makings of a classic bustier, plus an outstretched neckline. A thin, monochromatic belt cinched her waist.

To finish, ruched bloomer shorts peeked out from underneath the corset. It embodied the pajama side of lingerie dressing.

Tate McRae

You might've expected McRae to head straight home after her choreographed performance of "Sports Car." Instead, she hit up Carpenter's party in a sheer turtleneck and matching tights. A criss-cross wrap top and hot pants acted as her only opaque pieces.

Olandria Carthen

The Love Island USA Season 7 star proved she's one to watch on the fashion front, too. Before a Chez Margaux get-together in the Meatpacking district, photographers captured Olandria Carthen's black lingerie dress in all its rhinestone-embellished glory.

It was partially transparent to match her over-the-knee stockings, also in black. Once again, she worked with styling duo Matthew and Reginald Reisman—the same team behind her Cheney Chan red carpet gown.

Rosalía

Similar to Cardi B, Rosalía joined the VMAs festivities once the ceremony ended. She met up with Ice Spice and McRae at Sabrina54 in stark white lingerie, which peeked through her chainmail long-sleeve mini.

<![CDATA[ Kate Middleton Is Back to Brunette and On Trend for Fall 2025 in a New Plaid Dress ]]> Now that Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte are back to school, Princess Kate is busier than ever, and she surprised fans with a new engagement—and a new look—on Monday, September 8. Princess Kate's sunny blonde hair was back to brown as she joined Prince William for a special visit to the National Federation of Women's Institutes (WI) in Sunningdale, England to mark the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's death.

The Princess of Wales was first spotted with blonde hair while riding to church on the Balmoral estate last month, and she made waves with her new look at the Natural History Museum on September 4. Some fans argued that her hair only looked different because it was pulled half back during a rugby match on Saturday, September 6—but the princess had indeed colored her hair into a darker light brown shade for her WI visit Monday.

Along with her autumnal hair color, Kate debuted a new dress for the event, wearing a gray plaid Alessandra Rich midi in a tartan pattern that's one of fall's biggest trends. The past-season style featured an oversized pilgrim collar, puffed sleeves and pearl buttons, and she paired it with gray pumps and an old favorite pair of Kiki McDonough white topaz and diamond stud earrings.

The WI is an organization that was close to Queen Elizabeth's heart and brings women together to make friends, learn new skills and form community. The late Queen was a WI member for an incredible 80 years and also served as president of the organization from 2003 until her death. During their visit, the Prince and Princess of Wales met members and enjoyed some baked goods, along with hearing stories about the late Queen and her impact on the WI.

Fittingly, the Sunningdale group is right in the heart of the community where the Wales family is moving later this year. William, Kate and their three children will be relocating to Forest Lodge in the heart of Windsor Great Park, just about 10 minutes away from the WI's meeting place.

Prince Harry also marked Queen Elizabeth's death anniversary on Monday, making a private visit to her grave at Windsor Castle, as a spokesperson confirmed to People. The Duke of Sussex will later attend the WellChild Awards on Monday night to honor the achievements of seriously ill children and their families.

<![CDATA[ Sabrina Carpenter Hosts Her 2025 MTV VMAs After-Party in Cher's Exact Bob Mackie Bodysuit ]]> The 2025 MTV VMAs were every bit The Sabrina Show. Sabrina Carpenter went viral a handful of times last night: first for her Valentino-clad red carpet walk, then for singing in the rain à la Britney Spears.

The Sabrina Show stretched to the after-party circuit, too. Once the lights lifted inside New York's UBS Arena, celebrities boogied to Crane Club in Chelsea. A disco-dressed Carpenter awaited the arrivals of Tate McRae, Ice Spice, and more for Sabrina54, a Gen Z-ified take on the iconic '70s club, Studio54. The drag queens from Carpenter's "Tears" performance also RSVP-ed yes to the retro-looking bash. RuPaul's Drag Race Season 4 contestant, Willam, shared a sneak peek at Carpenter's soirée, plus her on-theme outfit.

The evening's host looked straight out of the infamous venue in circa-1975 Bob Mackie. Originally, Mackie had created the halter-neck bodysuit for Cher's The Cher Show performance with Tina Turner. It looked good as new on Carpenter, from fringed pink and blue panels to cascading mirror appliqués. Tens of circular mirrors covered the entire almost 50-year-old design.

Carpenter and stylist Jared Ellner have always fancied a vintage find, whether it be Chantal Thomass lingerie or Karl Lagerfeld-era Chanel. For the 2024 VMAs red carpet, they sourced one of Madonna's vintage sequin Bob Mackie dresses in a special homage. But wearing Cher's exact Bob Mackie? That's a sartorial feat worthy of an honorary Moon Person. You may recognize Carpenter's disco-ready dress from a The Cher Show highlight: Cher and Turner's "Shame Shame Shame" duet, which premiered in April 1975.

Both icons wore custom Bob Mackie one-pieces, lined with grosgrain ribbons and mirrored discs. The asymmetrical car wash skirts electrified the already-dynamic performance, revealing their legs with each twirl.

Fast forward to 2018, and Cher and Turner's bodysuits-turned-dresses appeared at a Beverly Hills auction, which spotlighted custom designs from the '70s and beyond. After 11 bids, Cher's Bob Mackie sold for $6,400, in all its disco ball-ish glory. Turner's slightly shorter style retailed for $8,960, following just four bids.

At just 26 years old, Carpenter is cementing herself as one of my generation's greats. Her red carpet fashion is always memorable—as evidenced by her stellar homage to Cher. If you add her singing, dancing, and songwriting skills to the mix, she's a coupé away from icon status.

<![CDATA[ Sabrina Carpenter's 2025 MTV VMAs Performance Outfit Change Would Make Britney Spears Proud ]]> Sabrina Carpenter's fans are sufficiently spoiled. After releasing two albums back-to-back, she returned to the 2025 MTV VMAs—not just on the red carpet, but for a center-stage performance, too.

Stylist Jared Ellner had his work cut out for him. Sabrina Carpenter required not one, but two designer looks this evening. Since the Grammy winner arrived at New York's UBS Arena an hour before showtime, she had plenty of time to swap her custom Valentino naked dress for an on-theme costume.

Carpenter synced her performance grand entrance to the first strings chord in "Tears." The second Man's Best Friend record went viral for its '80s disco-inspired instrumentals, so Carpenter followed suit on the fashion front. She emerged out of a literal manhole wearing a long-sleeve off-the-shoulder top covered in rhinestone fringe. It mimicked the custom Victoria's Secret one-piece she wore in the "Tears" music video, which paid homage to a 2003 Naomi Campbell look.

The MTV VMAs is famously a quick-change-friendly zone (see Lady Gaga's "Applause" performance in 2013). Half-way through the disco track, Carpenter followed Gaga's lead, ditching her first fringed top for a more risqué version. An entire halter-neck bra was covered in rhinestones, stretching from balconette cups onto under-bust rhinestone drapery. She even swapped out her skirt for semi-sheer tights and underwear worn as pants.

To literalize some of her "Tears" lyrics, she channeled her inner Britney Spears under a rainstorm. The award-worthy moment reminded Marie Claire editors of Spears's "Baby One More Time" performance on her 2001 Within a Dream tour. For a quick recap: Carpenter's fellow blonde wore a strikingly similar bra and hot pants combo as rain poured down.

Carpenter's fans knew her performance would leave quite an impression. They flooded VMAs's comment section with excitement for weeks. "Oh boy, I can‘t wait to see Sabrina!" one fan wrote, obviously referencing the spoken intro of "Manchild."

Last year, Carpenter set a high bar for herself, singing "Please Please Please," "Taste," and "Espresso" in one five-minute slot. "Please Please Please" began with Carpenter suspended in mid-air, wearing a custom crystal-covered bodysuit from Victoria's Secret. Even her Christian Louboutin Mary Janes sparkled with hundreds of Swarovski rhinestones.

After a quick makeout session with an alien, Carpenter ditched a high-neck bodice, revealing her plunging sweetheart neckline. Turns out, an eye-catching pendant necklace was hidden beneath the extra fabric. Its ruby gemstone matched the kiss marks atop her tights and hips.

To no surprise, she belted her heart out. (Image credit: Getty Images)

In 2024, Carpenter was new to the VMAs stage, having only been nominated once for "Espresso." Since then, however, her award show performances have only gotten bolder. In February 2025, she took center stage at the Grammy Awards, before winning her first trophy for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Carpenter sang "Please Please Please" and "Espresso" half-way through the broadcast, blending physical comedy and innuendos with ease. First, the spotlight found her in a sequin tuxedo dress custom-made for her by Dolce & Gabbana. It wasn't inherently saucy, but it was nostalgic—the other, more family-friendly side of Carpenter's trademark aesthetic. Similar to her VMAs performance look, she paired the costume with sparkly red-bottom Mary Janes.

Before breaking into the catchy chorus, Carpenter stripped down to a baby blue corset, also with Dolce & Gabbana tags. The pastel shade is one of her signature shades, inspired by her love of '60s-era fashion and music.

Once again, she went with a strapless bodysuit, featuring monochrome gemstones in place of boning. Looking every bit a Showgirl, she layered a feather-embellished shawl overtop. Maybe Taylor Swift will borrow it come Oct. 3.

Carpenter is collecting award-worthy performances looks like infinity stones. If I'm lucky, she'll secure an on-stage slot at the 2026 Grammys.

<![CDATA[ Lady Gaga Brings Mayhem Ball to the 2025 MTV VMAs in a Gothic Marc Jacobs Dress and Floral Headdress ]]> The MTV Video Music Awards has played host to many a historic fashion moment throughout its 41 years on the air—many at the hands of Lady Gaga.

The pop star has been attending the fabled award show since the release of her first album The Fame, which earned her the title of Best New Artist in 2009. The following year, Gaga accepted the award for Video of the Year, simultaneously debuting what many recognize as her most infamous outfit of all time: the reviled meat dress. And though her 2025 VMAs outfit wasn't nearly as shocking, it certainly will go down in her own personal hall of fame.

Singer Lady Gaga accepts the Video of the Year award onstage during the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards at NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on September 12, 2010 in Los Angeles, California.

Though Gaga has the most nominations of any star this evening, she chose to skip the VMAs red carpet all together. This is likely because the star accidentally double-booked herself for Sunday night's show. She is also hosting a sold-out performance at New York City's Madison Square Garden the very same night.

The pop star delayed the performance an hour in order to accept her Artist of the Year award in person on the VMAs stage—and did so wearing a Marc Jacobs dress that very well could have come straight out of her Mayhem Ball wardrobe.

She wore an 1800s-inspired confection covered in black ruffles. The plumed gown—a Marc Jacobs Fall 2025 creation—was made all the more dramatic by a matching rose-topped headpiece, which sat atop her blunt bangs. The blood-red floral blooms are likewise the centerpiece of her tour wardrobe, all styled by Hunter Clem.

Lady Gaga holds a grand total of 12 Moon Person nominations this evening. Categories include: Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Album, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Choreography, and Best Visual Effects. If she secures any more, her Mayhem Ball performance very well may need to be delayed indefinitely.

<![CDATA[ Ice Spice Goes Vintage in a Ralph Lauren Corset Set on the 2025 MTV VMAs Red Carpet ]]> The 2025 MTV VMAs are noticeably Taylor Swift-less, but her close friend, Ice Spice, is holding down the fashion fort.

Mere minutes before the red carpet circuit closed, the rapper arrived in an unexpected two-piece. Instead of competing for a Moon Person trophy, she's here to present one. Stylist Timothy Luke Garcia got his hands on Look 50 from Ralph Lauren's Spring 2003 collection for Ice Spice. The 22-year-old's skirt set looked good as new, from the Victorian era-inspired corset to the bustled maxi skirt.

Ice Spice has an eye for vintage pieces, especially from the early 2000s. Her navy patchwork skirt was Y2K personified. It blended indigo denim and plaid patches with ease, two rising trends for Fall 2025.

The cherry on top of Ice Spice's early-aughts cake was a Pamela Anderson-ish messy bun. Her signature curly afro had the night off, taken over by a peachy updo. Bangs and face-framing pieces gave her that effortless '90s flair Anderson is still known for.

Swift has attended the annual award show ten times, taking home 30 Moon Person statues since 2009. Ice Spice, on the other hand, is still a freshman. However, having a veteran like Swift in her inner circle is an award-worthy feat in itself.

The "Deli" artist made her VMAs debut in 2023, wearing custom Dolce & Gabbana. Always on board for a Y2K moment, her previous stylist helped Ice Spice pay homage to Britney Spears at the 2003 VMAs. She wore white from top to bottom, starting with a corseted little white dress, featuring tiered lace for a skirt. Both her arms and legs were covered in lace—a skintight bolero wrapped around her shoulders to fingerless gloves. Stark white tights peeked through her ankle-strap sandals.

Ice Spice's blueprint was the wedding-gown-turned-mini Spears wore on-stage with Madonna and Christina Aguilera. The trio performed Madonna's "Like a Virgin" and "Hollywood" with Spears and Aguilera dressed as brides, famously sharing kisses with a tuxedo-clad Madonna.

Similar to Ice Spice's look, Spears's bodice was corseted with a sweetheart balconette neckline. The mini skirt included peek-a-boo lace beneath the thigh-length hem. Turns out, Spears actually drew inspiration from Madonna's 1984 VMAs look: a deconstructed wedding dress.

It wouldn't be a proper Madonna tribute without a fair share of pearls. The "Toxic" singer layered various strings of pearls atop cross-shaped pendants. Fast forward 20 years, Ice Spice followed her lead with chainlink diamonds instead of pearls.

Back to Ice Spice. Perhaps her most viral moment at the 2023 VMAs happened inside New Jersey's Prudential Center. Ice Spice sat next to Swift, who'd walked the carpet mere minutes before in a black Reputation-coded Versace gown.

After winning the Best New Artist title, the 25-year-old swapped her Dolce & Gabbana for a sheer tulle gown. Interlaced silver grommets stretched from the plunging top to a sheer floor-length skirt.

This seating arrangement wasn't a kismet coincidence—Swift and Ice Spice collaborated on a "Karma" remix just five months prior. Now, the two are bona fide besties. They've met up at 2024's Coachella, the 2025 Super Bowl, and even on-stage at the Eras Tour.

What did they talk about, you ask? Ice Spice told Variety in Sept. 2023, "She’s so funny. We was sipping on a little something something. Just chatting, vibing.” In response, Swift revealed, "I relate to Ice in many ways, but I think her dedication and focus is what blew me away from the very start."

Another Ice Spice and Swift sighting would've been a highlight of the 2025 MTV VMAs red carpet. But alas, Swifties will have to wait. Who knows? Maybe there's another Kansas City Chiefs's suite with their names on it.

<![CDATA[ Ariana Grande Ends Her MTV VMAs Red Carpet Hiatus With Stylist Law Roach and a Custom Fendi Dress ]]> There are some celebrities who are constant fixtures on the red carpet, gaining their strength from the applause and camera flashes, like Tinker Bell. Stars like Doja Cat and Sabrina Carpenter fall into this category—the girlies who always show up ready and willing to serve. Then there are those who only make an appearance on a lucky occasion—celebs like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, who have reached a level of fame so high, they only emerge from their palaces for the rarest of events.

Ariana Grande is among the few superstars who regularly skips red carpets, choosing to keep her mega-famous life as private as possible. But on September 7, the pop star made a special exception for the 2025 MTV VMAs. She walked the red carpet on Sunday night beside her beloved stylist, Law Roach. The longtime VMAs attendee made her grand entrance after five years of no-shows, showing up arm-in-arm with her outfit's curator and dressed in custom Fendi.

Grande wore a polka dot column dress with a bustier neckline and a flouncy blush peplum detail. She added a matching bow in her slicked-back ponytail—a detail that was also found on the lapel of Roach's ruby-embellished suit. According to a press release from the brand, the singer's look was "inspired by a dress worn by Silvia Venturini in the 1980s."

The "Eternal Sunshine" singer skipped statement jewels. Instead, she opted for a few sparkly rings and a pair of glimmering studs from Swarovski.

This year, Grande is nominated for Best Pop Artist, Video of the Year, Best Pop, Best Longform Video, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects for her song “Brighter Days Ahead.” However Moon Person trophies she takes home, her presence alone is an unexpected win.

<![CDATA[ Sabrina Carpenter's Lace Naked Dress on the 2025 MTV VMAs Red Carpet Earns an Early Round of Applause ]]> No one could've predicted Sabrina Carpenter would compete in another award cycle this soon after Short n' Sweet. (Not even me, an OG Carpenter.) But here she is, in her red carpet outfit at the 2025 MTV VMAs, representing Man's Best Friend.

Two weeks after her seventh studio album dropped, Carpenter hit the 2025 MTV VMAs red carpet (her first since the Man's Best Friend era began). The Grammy winner is up for eight nominations, including Best Album for Short n' Sweet and Video of the Year for "Manchild." So, it's only right she teamed up with Jared Ellner again, the same stylist behind the record's controversial cover.

An hour before the first Moon Person was presented, Carpenter posed for photographers in a sheer long-sleeve naked dress. As I suspected, Valentino custom-made the look just for Carpenter. It was covered in sequined ruby lace from the turtleneck to the floor-grazing hem. A nude under-bust corset peeked through the illusion mesh. Sky-high platforms, also in red, added some height to the 5'2" pop star's look. A lavender boa draped around her wrists. Red and purple is an unexpected color combination for Carpenter, given her penchant for '60s-inspired pastels. Nonetheless, it's a move applauded by Marie Claire editors.

Carpenter's gown fulfilled the sparkle quota tenfold, so she kept her jewelry to a minimum. She borrowed diamond drop earrings and a matching ring from Tiffany & Co., which peeked out occasionally. According to the label, the single sparkler on her right hand features over ten carats.

Carpenter is returning to the VMAs, both as a guest and a performer, after taking home her first Moon Person last year. ICYMI, everyone from Doechii to Taylor Swift rooted for her as she accepted the Song of the Year award for "Espresso."

She thanked her fans, family, and "cats and dogs at home watching" in a vintage Bob Mackie gown, originally worn by Madonna at the 1991 Oscars. Ellner and L.A. boutique, Tab Vintage, ensured it looked good as new, from the scalloped neckline to the tiny train. The entire strapless style was hand-beaded with pearls and crystals, hence its opalescent sheen. An over-$200,000 diamond necklace from De Beers featured the same gemstones.

Historically, the VMAs are a costume change-friendly zone—see Lady Gaga's 2013 "Applause" performance for proof. Of course Carpenter followed Gaga's lead, swapping Bob Mackie for Victoria's Secret to sing "Please Please Please," "Taste," and "Espresso."

Carpenter shined in a barely-there bodysuit among a sea of dancers-turned-astronauts. It mimicked the same color palette and curvature of her Bob Mackie gown, except with shorts in place of a skintight skirt. Always on board for a jaw-dropping moment, Carpenter made out with an alien with her kiss-covered tights on full display.

Carpenter has been on the VMAs' radar since 2022, when she released her fifth studio album, Emails I Can't Send. Sure, she wasn't nominated, but she brought her fashion A-game in a floral gown from Moschino. Carpenter's black Jennifer Behr headband was equally '60s-inspired. The cutouts along her neckline and waist added that signature Sabrina Spice I know and love her for.

In 2023, Carpenter secured another invite to the VMAs. She was working on Short n' Sweet at the time, so her saucy mood impacted her red carpet attire.

Carpenter stole the show in custom Vera Wang, complete with a peek-a-boo bustier and tulle drapery hung like bed sheets. The completely sheer skirt trailed behind Carpenter as she walked.

At this rate, Carpenter will be a loyal VMAs guest for decades to come. Who knows? Maybe she'll be promoting another chart-topping album this time next year. In June, Carpenter told Rolling Stone she was inspired by artists like Dolly Parton and Linda Rondstadt. "They would release a 10-song album every year. When did we stop doing that? Writers write, they make music, and they release music." What I'm hearing is Carpenter wants to follow their lead. A girl can dream.

<![CDATA[ Doja Cat Brings Drama to the 2025 MTV VMAs in a Bedazzled Balmain Dress and Butter Yellow Pleaser Heels ]]> Doja Cat is my favorite celebrity on any given red carpet for one reason and one reason only—the drama. Whether she's at the Met Gala or the Oscars, the singer brings her sartorial A-game every single time. It's the MTV VMAs where she really thrives: Doja is her Doja-est self atop that iconic red carpet.

This is the event where she embraces her wildest, most salacious fashion urges—and the 2025 VMAs were more of the same energy. For this year's show, Doja Cat showed up in yet another jaw-dropping, eye-bulging, breath-catching look, right on schedule.

She took the step-and-repeat in a Balmain runway look from 2024. Embracing 1980s glamour, the pop star sported a pastel checked mini dress with a low, low neckline. The number was encrusted with intricate fuchsia crystallization.

Leaning into the theatrics of it all, Doja went with an overlarge '80s-stlye blow-out and novelty accessories. She carried a jewel-covered lipstick clutch (which matched her cherry red lip and long coffin nails) and slipped into a pair of butter yellow pleaser heels. The final touch were a pair of diamond-encrusted Chopard earrings that dangled to her shoulders.

Though the look was dramatic on all accounts, it was uncharacteristically demure. In 2023, for example, the "Paint the Town Red" singer went nearly-naked—a theme amongst many of her red carpet looks styled by Brett Alan Nelson. For that particular VMAs appearance, she wore a sheer dress made from cobweb-inspired thread.

She always brings the drama—and I love her for it.

<![CDATA[ The Most Memorable 2025 MTV VMAs Red Carpet Looks Hit the High Notes ]]> There wasn't a shortage of places to spot celebrities on Sunday, September 7. But the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, hosted at New York's UBS Arena, had the US Open Men's Final and the Toronto Film Festival beat for the most memorable red carpet fashion.

It's a time-honored tradition for music's biggest names to push the envelope with their VMAs red carpet style. This isn't the arena for polite speeches and demure gowns, after all. Accepting a "Moon Person" trophy is a venue for daring cut-outs, jarring prints, and jaw-dropping risks. Last year, Taylor Swift shut down the carpet in Dior tartan and Chappell Roan channeled Joan of Arc in full chainmail, while Lisa poured herself into a Mugler corset gown and Halsey tapped the Versace archive. If there's a dress code, it's be your loudest, most adventurous self.

Hours before the 2025 MTV VMAs broadcast began, stars got a head-start to rank on Marie Claire's annual list of the most memorable looks. Doja Cat arrived ahead of her performance in Chopard jewels and '80s-inspired Balmain, and Katseye's six members coordinated in lingerie-like mini dresses by Dolce & Gabbana. Sabrina Carpenter switched up her red carpet script in a custom Valentino naked dress, while Tyla, Latto, and Ice Spice sourced vintage from Chanel, Versace, and Ralph Lauren, respectively. The biggest surprise of all came from Lady Gaga, who skipped the MTV VMAs red carpet to head straight for her Artist of the Year acceptance speech in a gothic Marc Jacobs look.

Even without Taylor Swift's red carpet RSVP, it was a night full of impressive vintage pulls and gravity-defying proportions. Ahead, catch up on the most noteworthy MTV VMAs red carpet fashion, live from New York.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga had a perfect excuse for skipping the 2025 MTV VMAs red carpet: She had a concert to perform at Madison Square Garden. So the singer headed straight for her seat, where she'd stand up to accept the Artist of the Year award in a gothic Marc Jacobs Fall 2025 look styled by Hunter Clem. The tiers of black rosettes and coordinating headpiece could have come straight from the set of Wednesday Season 2—or her Mayhem Ball tour.

Sabrina Carpenter

Fresh off the release of Man's Best Friend, Sabrina Carpenter was the 2025 MTV VMAs red carpet's best arrival in a custom Valentino naked dress. (At least, in this fashion editor's opinion.) Her unexpected fall color combination, styled by Jared Ellner, made an otherwise standard VMAs lace dress feel anything but.

Doja Cat

Doja Cat was a harlequin pin-up for her 2025 VMAs appearance. (Image credit: Getty Images)

News that Doja Cat would perform at the 2025 MTV VMAs guaranteed a set list with head-turning outfits to match. But first, the star and her stylist, Brett Alan Nelson, collaborated on a harlequin Balmain mini dress for the red carpet, sourced from the label's Pre-Fall 2024 collection. Teeing up her '80s-inspired new musical era (Prince is an influence cited in the New York Times), she coordinated the dress's pink accents with megawatt fuchsia gemstones from Chopard's Haute Joaillerie Collection–plus, piece-y bangs and curls Dolly Parton would approve.

Ariana Grande and Law Roach

Surprise! Ariana Grande and Law Roach were the 2025 MTV VMAs best-dressed stylist-and-muse couple. Roach dressed the Wicked: For Good star in custom polka dots by Fendi, paired with Swarovski crystals and a playful coordinating hair bow. Meanwhile, the image architect accented his black suit with a polka-dot tie of his own.

Latto

Latto teamed up with the vintage experts at Timeless Vixen for a look that won the gold: an archival Gianni Versace gown featuring an asymmetric strap and a tiered skirt. The dress had originally debuted as Look 53 on the Fall 1994 runway, courtesy of supermodel Linda Evangelista.

Tyla

In 2024, Tyla told Marie Claire her outfits always have to leave room to dance and move. More than a year later, she's keeping her promise at the 2025 MTV VMAs in an ultra-mini tweed dress and heaps of gold jewelry by Pandora. The dress's source? A 1993 Chanel runway, sourced by stylist Ron Hartleben.

Ice Spice

The last time we saw Ice Spice at the MTV VMAs, she was wearing her signature red curls and a corseted white mini dress. A lot has changed since then, including her beauty beat. For the 2025 ceremony, she debuted a pink, Pamela Anderson-inspired up-do alongside a vintage Ralph Lauren runway look sourced from Raffe Vintage.

Ciara

Comfort and MTV VMAs exaggeration weren't exclusive in Ciara's 2025 red carpet look by Schiaparelli. She amped up a fall classic, the quarter-zip sweatshirt, in the form of a knit mini dress with an asymmetric train.

Justine Skye

Gilded silver gowns are a red carpet mainstay, it's true. But Justine Skye VMA-ified her take by Dsquared2 with a side-slit that went all the way up to her hip bone.

Yeah, Glo! GloRilla's arrival on the 2025 MTV VMAs red carpet came with a plaid mini dress by Helen Anthony, layered over a coordinating jacket and schoolgirl Mary Janes.

Listen up: FKA Twigs made a surprise appearance at the 2025 MTV VMAs, and her dystopian burgundy two-piece wasn't even the best part. Zoom in, and see how her brands are sculpted to resemble a set of headphones. Now that's a take on red carpet method dressing I haven't seen yet.

Leading lady María Zardoya ushered her indie-pop band, The Marías, into their first MTV VMAs red carpet with help from a major credit for the whole group: Valentino.

Tate McRae

"Sports Car" singer Tate McRae prepped for her performance—and potential wins in four categories—with one of her signature twists on a two-piece look. This time, she and stylist Brett Alan Nelson tapped custom Ludovic de Saint Sernin for a white mesh sheath over a white bikini-like set.

Katseye

First, girl-group Katseye set the internet alight in their Gap ad campaign. Now, all six members are attending their first MTV VMAs in Dolce & Gabbana outfits that let Sophia, Manon, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae each have her moment—a blazer and exposed bra here, metallic fringe there—while sticking to a united color palette.

Summer Walker

Was Summer Walker tipping her furry hat to Rihanna with this 2025 MTV VMAs look, or Pamela Anderson? She didn't say so, but the oversize topper couldn't help but remind me of a similarly fluffy accessory Ri chose for her trip to the 2024 Fashion Awards. It's also reminiscent of the extra-large pink fur hat Pamela Anderson chose for the 1999 ceremony. Homage or no, it's the night's standout hair accessory.

It seems The Hunting Wives inspired co-stars Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman, because both were dressed to kill in metallics at the 2025 VMAs red carpet.

Something tells me a "Toxic"-era Britney Spears would love Zara Larsson's 2025 MTV VMAs red carpet look. The strategically-placed beaded hibiscus flowers and periwinkle overlay feel so typically 2003.

<![CDATA[ Royal Butler Shares Queen Elizabeth's Hilarious Response When Prince Philip Complained She Had "So Many" Corgis ]]> Queen Elizabeth II was known for her love of corgis, which she owned throughout her life. And according to a former royal butler, the monarch didn't hold back when Royal Family members criticized the adorable pets.

In his new book, The Royal Insider: My Life with The Queen, The King, and Princess Diana, former butler Paul Burrell recalled working with Queen Elizabeth, which included caring for the corgis. "While I always felt like I was living the dream being one of The Queen's footmen, it was not an easy job by any means," Burrell wrote in the book, which is being serialized by the Daily Mail.

Reflecting on his role, Burrell explained, "My first duty of the day was to walk the corgis." He continued, "I always felt guilty for not picking up the 'corgi mess'—I didn't have time. The gardeners must have cursed me as I left their immaculate lawn littered with dog poo."

Remembering one particular interaction between Queen Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip, Burrell wrote, "Like many animal lovers, The Queen liked having her dogs in the bedroom—even in bed with her. Prince Philip, who did share a bed with his wife, was not so keen and would mumble about 'those bloody dogs.'"

According to Burrell, Philip once told Elizabeth, "I don't know why you have to have so many." Known for her acerbic wit, The Queen reportedly responded, "But darling, they are so collectable."

It seems extremely likely that Prince Philip knew just how attached Queen Elizabeth was to her corgis. But according to Burrell, Philip was simply not a fan of sharing a bed with the sweet pups.

<![CDATA[ Princess Charlene Swaps Her Barbie Pink Dress for a White Lace Oscar de la Renta Cut-Out Gown for a Picnic With Twins Jacques and Gabriella ]]> Back in July, Princess Charlene of Monaco was the epitome of Barbiecore in an Oscar de la Renta Cherry Guipure Lace Midi Dress for a celebration of her husband's 20th anniversary on the throne. On Sept. 6, Charlene attended U Cavagnëtu, a traditional, annual Monagasque picnic, at which she swapped her pink gown for a white lace cut-out dress from the same designer.

The former Olympian's husband, Prince Albert, and their 10-year-old twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, were also in attendance, and looked exceedingly smart. For the occasion, Princess Charlene opted for a white Oscar de la Renta Guipure Lace Midi Dress, featuring a high neckline and an asymmetrical hem.

Similar in style to her pink Cherry Guipure dress from the designer, the lace of the princess's white dress gave a subtly sheer appearance. Charlene accessorized the outfit with a pair of Gianvito Rossi Ascent 85 Beige Leather Slingback Pumps—a label beloved by royals around the world, including Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.

Charlene's daughter, Gabriella, wore a green floral dress by Dior Kids, and a pair of open-toe sandals by the designer. Prince Jacques drew style inspiration from his father by wearing a tailored navy blazer and tan pants.

In a 2010 interview with Tatler, Charlene opened up about her romance with Monaco's Prince Albert. "The prince is the most charming, generous person I've ever met," she told the outlet. "His patience knows no bounds and he is exceptionally caring. He has a unique ability to make everyone he comes into contact with feel special. He's the man I've dreamed of. He's perfect for me in every way. I respect him and understand him."

Judging by the couple's latest appearance, they're still very much in love.

<![CDATA[ Jennifer Lopez Brings Back the Parachute Pants Trend With a Sold-Out Dior Book Bag ]]> Whether she's performing onstage or shopping on a day off, Jennifer Lopez's style is a constant source of inspiration. During a weekend outing with her child, Emme, and Ben Affleck's son Samuel, Lopez paired a sold-out Christian Dior book bag from the designer's 2022 collection with parachute pants.

Spotted browsing in Balenciaga in Beverly Hills, Lopez brought back summer 2024's celebrity-beloved parachute pants trend. The "Get Right" singer opted for a pair of Free People To the Sky Parachute Pants, which retailed for $78 but have sadly sold out.

In 2024, everyone from Emily Ratajkowski to Zendaya and Jennifer Lawrence showed love for the parachute pants trend, which appears to be resurfacing just in time for fall 2025.

Lopez styled her parachute pants with another sold-out item: a Christian Dior jute book bag from 2022. Although the actress's exact tote is only available on re-sale sites, Christian Dior's iconic book bag remains available in a plethora of designs.

The Marry Me star accessorized her parachute pants with a cropped long-sleeved white blouse and a pair of $199 FEMME LA's Gianni Suede Mule in Desnuda.

In an interview with El Pais, Lopez got candid about her split from Ben Affleck, and revealed what she shared with her twins—Emme and Max—about the breakup. "I had a really tough year," the Maid in Manhattan star told the outlet. "Unexpected things happened."

Lopez continued, "And so, I read a lot of books. I did a lot of self-introspection. I did meditation. I prayed a lot." Sharing what she told her kids about the split, Lopez explained, "I said, 'I promise you, this is a difficult time, but you're going to see that I'll come out the other side stronger and better.' I promised them that and I did it."

<![CDATA[ Former Royal Butler Accused of Stealing Princess Diana's Possessions Says a "Private Meeting" With Queen Elizabeth "Saved" Him From Prison ]]> A plethora of former Royal Family staff members continue to discuss their memories of their favorite royals. One such employee is Paul Burrell, a former royal butler for Princess Diana and her family. In his new book, The Royal Insider: My Life with The Queen, The King, and Princess Diana, the former butler reflected on being arrested for allegedly stealing some of Princess Diana's possessions following her death. He also discussed how a private meeting with Queen Elizabeth II helped to change his fate.

In an extract from Burrell's forthcoming book, which is being serialized by the Daily Mail, the former butler explained, "[O]n 16 August 2001, I had been charged with stealing 315 items from the estate of my late employer Diana, Princess of Wales, six items from Prince Charles, and 21 items from Prince William." As a result, Burrell was facing a five-year prison sentence, if he was found guilty of taking the items illegally.

"The police had torn my home apart, like a burglary in reverse," Burrell wrote. "Items that Princess Diana and Prince Charles had given me and my family over the years were all taken away, including clothes, shoes, and handbags that Diana had gifted to my wife Maria and a writing bureau she had given one of my sons."

According to Burrell, he was tasked with "cataloging and packing away" Diana's possessions, but he was left feeling "concerned that not enough was being done to protect Diana's legacy." The weight of his former employer's legacy quickly combined with his own personal issues, which included becoming "homeless and unemployed, after years of living and working at Kensington Palace."

The former butler decided to arrange a private meeting with Elizabeth, whom he had previously served. According to Burrell, he met the late monarch one evening in December 1997 at Buckingham Palace, and he addressed the "grave concerns" he had regarding Diana's property.

"[T]he family have been through all the princess's personal belongings and have taken away a great deal of her property, much of which I believe William and Harry should have," Burrell wrote, recalling his conversation with Queen Elizabeth.

Burrell continued, "I was asked to bring down her monogrammed luggage which was filled with her clothes, and Mrs. Shand Kydd [Frances, Diana's mother] sits on the princess's [couch] sorting through papers and shredding personal correspondence, including letters from you. That shredding machine is smoking, Your Majesty!"

Sharing his concern regarding the destruction of Diana's property, Burrell allegedly told The Queen, "So I have taken it upon myself to rescue documents which I think are important. I could not stand by and watch history be erased or the princess's world changed. She had fought so hard for the little privacy that she had and I have kept safe the personal items which she entrusted to me and were locked in my filing cabinet in my pantry."

According to Burrell, "The Queen raised her eyebrows but said nothing" at his revelation about Diana's property.

The pair subsequently discussed numerous topics, the former royal butler explained, including Diana's continued fondness for her ex-husband Charles and her ability to connect with people from all over the world. However, it was Burrell's revelation regarding Diana's personal possessions that "changed the course of my life," he wrote.

During his trial, the Royal Family was able to share "new evidence," after Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, and King Charles discussed the topic while traveling to an event together. The Queen's recollection of her conversation with Burrell changed everything for the former butler, who was allowed to walk free. "The Queen had saved me," he wrote.

<![CDATA[ The Duchess of Kent Will Have the First Royal Catholic Funeral in Modern History ]]> Following the sad news that the Duchess of Kent has passed away at the age of 92, Buckingham Palace has shared details about the royal's funeral. Katharine, the Duchess of Kent died in her Kensington Palace home on Sept. 4, and her funeral—which will break from royal tradition in one particular way—will take place on Sept. 16.

The Royal Family shared a press release announcing details regarding the Duchess of Kent's funeral, which will take place at Westminster Cathedral on Sept. 16. As Katharine was a Catholic, her funeral will include a Requiem Mass, making it "the first royal Catholic funeral in the U.K. in modern history," the BBC reported.

King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to attend the funeral, along with other members of the Royal Family, including Katharine's husband, the Duke of Kent. "Afterwards, the coffin will be taken by hearse to the Royal Burial Ground at Frogmore, Windsor," the Royal Family's press release explained.

Incidentally, the Duchess of Kent's funeral will take place during Donald Trump's state visit to the U.K. later this month.

The official press release further noted, "Flags will be half-masted at all official royal residences flying the Union Flag on the day of the Funeral.

<![CDATA[ Hailey Bieber Pairs Her Little Black Halter Dress With a $4,300 Saint Laurent Bag and Peep-Toe Mules ]]> After channeling Madonna in vintage Gucci by Tom Ford earlier this week, Hailey Bieber switched up her style for a night out with husband Justin Bieber. To celebrate the release of Justin's new album, SWAG II, the Rhode founder wore head-to-toe Saint Laurent, including a sleek, lace mini dress.

Photographed leaving The Twenty Two in New York, Hailey opted for a black Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello lace-detail mini halter dress, featuring floral lace around the neckline. She accessorized the dress with the label's $4,300 Icare Hobo Bag in Quilted Nappa. For footwear, the beauty mogul chose a pair of Saint Laurent Daisy Mules in Satin Crepe, which retail for $1,100 and feature rhinestone detailing and a kitten heel.

The model completed her look with a pair of black sunglasses.

In contrast with Hailey's little black dress, Justin wore a baggy print T-shirt, loose-fitting pants, and purple sneakers.

The model previously opened up about her husband's very different style choices. "He may want to wear baggy sweats to dinner, and I might want to wear a tiny little dress just because that's how I'm feeling," Hailey told GQ. "We can't sit there and be like, 'So I'm going to wear this and you're going to wear this.'"

Although Hailey's exact Saint Laurent mini dress has become difficult to track down, similar lingerie-inspired styles are available to shop online.

<![CDATA[ Princess Kate Is All Business in a Ruffled White Blouse and Black Suit to Watch Women's Rugby ]]> Now that summer is over, Princess Kate's schedule is getting incredibly busy. Fresh from her engagement at the Natural History Museum on Sept. 4—where she revealed that her 11-year-old son Prince George already shares her shoe size—the Princess of Wales made a solo appearance at a women's rugby game on Saturday, Sept. 6.

Kate Middleton is the royal patron of the Rugby Football Union, which is why she showed her support at the Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 Group Stage match between England and Australia. Princess Kate arrived at the Brighton & Hove Albion Stadium wearing Knatchbull's Cascade Ruffle Blouse, and an Alexander McQueen Leaf Crepe Wool Jacket in Black, via @katemiddletonstyled.

The Princess of Wales accessorized her outfit with a $5,400 Chanel Mini Classic Handbag and a $3,350 pair of Cartier 18K Pink Yellow White Gold Small Trinity Earrings.

The Princess of Wales's blonde highlights were visible, although worn partially tied back. She looked delighted to be attending the women's sporting event, and appeared to have left her children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—at home.

Meanwhile, Kate's husband, Prince William, stepped out to support Wales's women's rugby team as they played against Fiji at the Sandy Park Stadium in Exeter.

This fall, Princess Kate, Prince William, and their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—will move out of Adelaide Cottage and into Forest Lodge. According to royal biographer Sean Smith, the Princess of Wales's new home will bring her even closer to her so-called "royal sister," Duchess Sophie. "They remain the best of friends," Smith told GB News. "They have always been two middle-class girls from the country battling their way through the etiquette and traditions of the Royal Family."

Smith continued, "They do not live in each other's pockets. Kate has three young children to occupy her attention, but [their] new home, Forest Lodge, is little more than a 10-minute drive from Bagshot Park, so Sophie is near to help and support when she can."

Because I like to have some sort of consistency or a narrative."

<![CDATA[ Taylor Swift Skipped the Themed WAG Outfit for Travis Kelce's First Chiefs Game of the Season ]]> Despite committing to a lifetime with Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift apparently couldn't commit to the 12 hour flight from Los Angeles to São Paolo, Brazil (and frankly, who could blame her). Though it comes a mere week and a half after they announced their engagement, the pop star was nowhere to be found at her fiancé's first game of the season. Kelce took the field for the first time in 2025 to play the Los Angeles Chargers at Arena Corinthians stadium in São Paolo, Brazil.

Fans looking forward to an inaugural game day look must wait just a bit longer. Even so, Taylor Swift's game day style has made a 180-degree shift since her first trip to Arrowhead Stadium in 2023—thanks to stylist stylist Joseph Cassell Falconer. At the beginning of their relationship, Swift turned up in the stands alongside Kelce's mom, Donna, in a pointelle Dôen tank top, cut-off jean shorts, and a New Era Chiefs windbreaker.

Throughout her first season as a Chiefs WAG, she was loyal to a high-low playbook. She'd pair a Hill House Home pleated skirt with Prada boots at one game, then a '47 team T-shirt with Reformation loafers at the next. Vintage Chiefs crewneck sweatshirts and jackets often topped her game-day outfits, alongside a stack of Kelce-themed diamond jewelry.

By the time Taylor Swift stomped back to the stands for the 2025 Super Bowl in thigh-high boots, her WAG style had fully pivoted in a loud luxury direction. Head-to-toe Chanel and Louis Vuitton outfits replaced her casual fan gear. Vivienne Westwood, Versace, and Stella McCartney also supplied Chiefs-red suits and faux fur coats. Her team spirit jewelry even took a turn for the expensive, via Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, and Cartier.

By the 2024-2025 season, Swift had traded her accessible layers for full looks by Louis Vuitton and Chanel. (Image credit: Getty Images)

Taylor Swift's bridal style era began right before the official start of football season. Joining Travis Kelce for a date to the University of Cincinnati Bearcats vs. University of Nebraska Cornhuskers football game, she styled something new (a white Ralph Lauren sweater vest) and with something blue (a Celine bag and Balenciaga skirt). They couldn't quite pull focus from her diamond engagement ring, custom designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry.

Given her conspicuous absence from 2025's inaugural game, it's anyone's guess as to whether Swift will make an appearance at any of this season's big events—namely, the upcoming VMAs. Fans may be in for a long wait until her massive old mine cut diamond is seen again.

<![CDATA[ Princess Kate Reveals Prince George "Already" Wears the Same Shoe Size as Her During Candid Interaction With Fans ]]> Prince George is only 12, but according to proud mom Princess Kate, he's growing up at lightning speed. The future King is certainly following in his parents' footsteps when it comes to height, and apparently, he's even wearing the same shoe size as his mom these days. In a video shared on TikTok, the Prince and Princess of Wales took time to greet fans outside London's Natural History Museum on September 4—and Kate confessed how fast her three children were growing up.

Prince George turned 12 in July, while Princess Charlotte marked her 10th birthday in May and Prince Louis celebrated his 7th birthday in April. Speaking about her kids to one woman outside the museum, Kate said, "I know, they're getting big now," smiling and holding her hand up to indicate height. "George is already in my shoes!" she added.

In 2023, Hello! reported that Princess Kate buys her shoes in both a size 38.5 and a 39, which makes her between a U.S. size 8 and 9, depending on the brand and sizing.

Even though George can borrow his mom's sneakers these days, fans reflected on how it seemed like it wasn't long ago when they waited outside St Mary's Hospital to catch a glimpse of him after his 2013 birth.

"We were camped outside the hospital when all three of your children were born," one woman told the princess, who exclaimed, "Really? Oh my goodness, it only feels like yesterday."

Another fan added, "And you sent us breakfast as well," to which Kate replied, "Good, you got it. It's the least I could do," before she was directed to head inside the museum.

William and Kate's visit was their first public engagement in seven weeks, marking their return to duties after the summer break. The event centered around the Natural History Museum's newly revamped gardens, and the royal couple took part in activities with school children to promote engaging with nature in urban environments.

<![CDATA[ Could We Be Getting Another Fragrance From Kylie Jenner? ]]> I haven't always been much of a perfume person. It took me years to begin curating a lineup of scents and fragrances I love, and to this day, my collection is a work in progress. That said, I'll never pass on the opportunity to add a new perfume to my daily beauty regimen, and if one of Kylie Jenner's most recent Instagram posts is any indication, I'll potentially have another to put to the test very soon.

On Sept. 4, Jenner took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of a lab sample of an unspecified product. "She's finally perfect," she captioned it. She obviously didn't go any further in explaining what kind of product it was, but judging by how the bottle looks, it looks like the "she" Jenner's referring to in the caption could be a fragrance that she plans on adding to her lineup of existing products.

a small, sample sized bottle of an unspecified liquid on a white background

Kylie Jenner teased a new product on her Instagram Story on Sept. 4. (Image credit: Instagram / @kyliejenner)

If what Jenner teased on Instagram was actually a new fragrance, this would be the third one to launch from Kylie Cosmetics. Cosmic, the first fragrance, was released back in 2024, and the scent profile featured notes of jasmine, blood orange, amber, and vanilla. Earlier this year, the brand released Cosmic 2.0—a floral amber scent with added notes of pear, pink pepper, and lavender essence—as a follow-up.

Hopefully this alleged scent will be more drastically different from her first two and lean into another fragrance family, like gourmands, which are one of 2025’s biggest perfume trends. Cosmic 2.0 was released in March, almost a year to the day that her first perfume launched, so if we're following that timeline, there's a chance we won't know what this new mystery product is for another few months. Only time will tell what Miss Jenner has in store.

<![CDATA[ Prince Edward Gave Duchess Sophie This "Far From Impressive" Gift When They Were Dating ]]> Duchess Sophie is one of the hardest-working members of the Royal Family today, representing her brother-in-law, King Charles, and championing causes such as fighting sexual violence in conflict and preventable blindness. But in the early 1990s, she was Sophie Rhys-Jones, a young woman in her twenties working in public relations. She started dating Prince Edward in 1993, and her resemblance to Princess Diana caused an onslaught of media interest in the newest royal girlfriend. In the biography Sophie: Saving the Royal Family, author Sean Smith delves into the early days of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh's relationship—and reveals one hilarious misstep Edward made when they were dating.

Sophie's every move was followed by paparazzi in the early '90s, with Smith revealing that when she got a parking ticket, photographers even "moved the ticket so when that she got in, she couldn't see out of the windscreen." The trick ensured Sophie had to step out and remove the piece of paper so paparazzi could take better pictures.

When it came time for Sophie's 29th birthday in January 1994, Prince Edward—once called "Prince Brat" by the media—wasn't yet ready to propose. But as Smith wrote, "He could have slipped into Garrard's, the Royal jewellers, to select a discreet diamond" to acknowledge "how deftly" his girlfriend "was handling the public interest in their romance." Unfortunately, Edward didn't quite get the hint.

"Instead, he chose a suitcase," Smith wrote. "Admittedly, it was a very smart suitcase, with her initials engraved on the top, but hardly designed to sweep a girl off her feet." Embarrassingly, Sophie then had "to answer the inevitable questions from friends, 'What did Edward give you?' with the far from impressive words, 'A jolly nice suitcase.'"

The biographer pointed out that anything flashy would have made "the gift very public" and attract media attention, a problem that Prince Edward would have been careful to avoid. However, all was not lost when it came to his girlfriend's 29th birthday.

Per the book, Prince Edward originally "planned a quiet supper at his place," but then called Sophie and said he "would be late" due to a meeting. After arriving at the palace, the future duchess spotted "a forlorn-looking bunch of balloons was tied half-heartedly to a chair" but there was no dinner in sight. "Suddenly, the door was flung open and a bunch of her best friends rushed in followed by an exuberant Edward: 'Surprise!' they shouted in unison," Smith wrote.

Despite his rather practical present, Prince Edward "had turned up trumps with the most wonderful treat—a birthday party at Buckingham Palace," Smith wrote. And it turns out Edward is a romantic at heart after all, as he "sheepishly produced a second present—an antique silver frame containing a photograph of him from his days as a Marine."

<![CDATA[ Ashley Olsen Styles The Row's Trench Coat as a Minimalist Fall Dress ]]> Obviously, The Row played a part in Ashley Olsen's grand return to Hollywood.

Every September, the YES Scholars Gala hosts a star-studded affair. But on Sept. 4, the organization outdid itself: an Olsen twin RSVP'ed.

For her first red carpet walk since 2021, the creative director emerged from her The Row-filled closet with a trench-coat-turned-dress. The $6,550 Ryo Coat was made of sand-washed cupro toile: a vegan, silk-like fabric, stretching from the flat collar to the ankle-length hem. Its only closure was a single button around her neck, which remained undone.

Ashley joined her husband, Louis Eisner, and his mother, Lisa Eisner at the gala. (Image credit: Getty Images)

What did she layer underneath, you ask? That remains a mystery. Rumor has it, Olsen styled the khaki-colored coat all night, even while Shaboozy performed his chart-topping single, "A Bar Song." Knowing the minimalist, however, she likely wore it with elevated basics. Perhaps Zoë Kravitz's Sibem cashmere sweater or the Irene Skirt in Jennifer Lawrence's closet.

Olsen's visible accessories likely hailed from the New York label, too. As if she didn't look autumnal enough, she paired pointy pumps with an itty-bitty brown clutch. Though, the woven purse was hidden beside her fashion photographer mother-in-law, Lisa Eisner.

Mary-Kate Olsen didn't join her twin at the fundraiser, which supports "high-potential students from low-income communities in Los Angeles, New York City, and rural North Carolina." She secured box seats at the 2025 US Open. Instead, their younger sister Elizabeth Olsen held down the family fort.

Stylist Elizabeth Stewart dressed the Wandavision star in a little black dress, courtesy of Rodarte Fall/Winter 2022. Though its lace and silk made it slightly more elevated, both sisters matched each other's October-ready energy.

Once the red carpet closed, the siblings joined each other inside the Bel-Air Country Club. The behind-the-scenes photo showcased Ashley's gold drop earrings, which were otherwise hidden during her step-and-repeat.

Both on and off-duty, Ashley Olsen has become synonymous with statement outerwear. In fact, at the 2021 CFDA Awards (her most recent red carpet) she wore a similar floor-length coat. It was November, so it was a heavier wool option from The Row's catalog.

While out and about, she also uses oversize jackets to avoid the paparazzi, shielding her face with thick lapels. Maybe that's why The Row jackets are some of the trickiest to track down—they're all in the Olsen twins's closets.

<![CDATA[ Princess Diana Was The Original Queen of Fall's Regal Purple Trend ]]> Color trends come and go, and as we all wave goodbye to butter yellow, there's a new shade that everyone will be wearing for fall 2025. Whether it's pale lavender, deep plum or ultra-bright violet, shades of purple are reigning supreme this season—and one member of the Royal Family was more than 30 years ahead of the trend.

Like butter yellow, Princess Diana was often seen in purple throughout her royal career and even before, as seen in the famous 1980 photos of Lady Di posing with her kindergarten students. Wearing a purple sweater vest, lavender shirt and pastel skirt that turned out to be surprisingly sheer in the light, the soon-to-be fiancée of Prince Charles captured the public imagination.

She'd go on to wear a number of punchy purple looks in the '80s and '90s, including regal crushed velvet gowns, smart lavender power suits and everything in between.

Purple, of course, has long had an association with royalty. While us mere mortals can wear purple with wild abandon today, it was once a color that was reserved for the most elite members of society. Queen Elizabeth I even banned commoners from wearing the color, which was extraordinary expensive to produce at the time due to how the dye was produced.

Princess Diana, for one, knew exactly how to slip the shade into her ever-evolving work wardrobe, embracing puffy, romantic lilac gowns in the earlier years of her marriage and shifting to modern pieces like the sleek purple Versace dress she wore for a trip to Chicago after her divorce from Prince Charles.

Take a look back at some of Diana's most memorable purple looks, ahead.

Like her famous wedding gown, the pastel purple creation Diana wore during her tour of Australia and New Zealand leaned into the bows and poofy silhouettes of the early '80s. The princess wore this off-the-shoulder Donald Campbell style to a gala ballet performance in Auckland, New Zealand, and while it wouldn't have looked out of place as a bridesmaid's gown at the time, Diana made the dress look utterly glam.

Princess Diana attended a glittering banquet on behalf of one of her patronages, Birthright, in 1987, wearing a Catherine Walker evening gown that paid tribute to Elizabethan style. The long-sleeved dress featured a velvet bodice and purple ruff collar, finishing off with a bright purple skirt. But the star of the show was the enormous amethyst and diamond cross necklace she wore with the gown—a piece that Kim Kardashian would go on to acquire at auction in 2023.

The royal once again showed her love for velvet during a 1988 gala to support children's charity Barnardo's, wearing a deep purple off-the-shoulder gown by Bruce Oldfield. She carried the purple theme down to her jewels, wearing an amethyst choker necklace and matching amethyst and diamond drop earrings.

October 1990

The late princess wore this Catherine Walker suit on numerous occasions in the '90s, including a church service for fire brigade veterans in the fall of 1990. The pale pink blazer and matching skirt was trimmed with bright violet lapels, cuffs and buttons, and she wore the outfit with coordinating purple pumps. While Diana owned a matching hat—as seen in the photos of her with Prince William and Prince Harry at St Paul's Cathedral—she often wore the suit without its purple-trimmed topper for a more businesslike look.

Diana headed to Chicago in the summer of 1996, attending a gala at the city's Field Museum in a bright violet Versace dress. The clean lines and sleeker silhouette of the dress fit in with her fresher post-divorce style, and she paired the gown with a dazzling choker, her amethyst and diamond drop earrings and purple Jimmy Choo heels.

Diana often embraced a power suit, and she wore this lavender Versace skirt set just two months before her tragic 1997 death. She sported the belted blazer and pencil skirt to give an anti-landmines campaign speech in Washington, D.C., pairing the look with chunky pearl jewelry.

<![CDATA[ Angelina Jolie's Blonde Bob Is My New Hyperfixation ]]> Just when I thought I'd seen the last of the cunty little bob, Angelina Jolie reminded me that the haircut still has most of Hollywood in a very firm chokehold. More formally known as the blunt bob, the cunty little bob has been pretty much everywhere this year with everyone from Sofia Richie to Jenna Lyons to Michelle Williams swapping out their long locks for shorter, cropped styles. Jolie is just the latest celebrity to enter her blunt bob era, though her hair transformation comes at the hands of an exciting new role she's been filming for.

Jolie is currently in London filming the film adaptation of Fredrik Backman's 2019 bestselling novel, Anxious People. In photos shared online, the actress can be seen wearing a golden blonde hair color and a slightly-flipped-under bob that goes just past her chin. It's possible that she could have just decided to wear a short wig while filming as opposed to doing a big chop, but given the fact that she's already been blonde for over a year, I wouldn't be surprised if she fully committed to the look and cut her own hair.

This is a pretty major transformation for Jolie. For years, her hair has been a dark brunette color that's rarely been shorter than mid-back length, so it's equal parts exciting and jarring to see her with hair this short. She's also certainly not the only famous person to transition from dark hair to blonde over the last year. Bella Hadid, who's actually a natural blonde, traded in her signature dark hair color for a honey blonde hue ahead of the Cannes Film Festival earlier this summer. Emily Blunt also went through a very brief period as a platinum blonde while filming The Devil Wears Prada 2 a few weeks ago, and Kate Middleton was spotted wearing a bronde hair color in early September.

If any of these transformations are giving you the urge to call your colorist, just know that there are a handful of products you'll need to add to your haircare regimen to keep your bleached locks in the best shape. Read ahead to shop a few.

<![CDATA[ Hailey Bieber's Madonna-Coded Teal and Black Color Combination Will Start an '80s Style Revival ]]> I hope Hailey Bieber snoozed her alarm this morning. After yesterday's flared trouser marathon, she deserved to sleep in.

ICYMI, the supermodel (and her stylist, Dani Michelle) blessed the internet with eight designer looks to celebrate Rhode's move to Sephora. Clad in The Row, Bieber began her mini press tour at 8 a.m., debuting new outfits by the hour. Most New Yorkers clocked out around 6 p.m., but not her. After hours, she kicked things up a notch in an unexpected, '80s-inspired color combination: teal and black.

She tapped the silk trend from top to bottom, starting with a blue-green button-down. Turns out, the fitted blouse, in all its satin sheen glory, is vintage Gucci by Tom Ford. At pub time, the 22-year-old top retailed for $1,495 on 1stDibs.

Bieber's bottoms were just as shiny, except in black. They were slightly more fitted than the flared trousers she started her day in. These hugged her legs closely, from the low-rise waist to straight-leg hems. The Row's Park Tote, Ruby Stella hoop earrings, and Giant Vintage sunglasses modernized her throwback set.

The green-and-black color story hailed straight from the '80s, beloved by ateliers like Christian Lacroix and Ungaro back in the day. It reminded me of a 1995 Madonna look currently on my fashion mood board.

At the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards, the "Vogue" singer posed with a shiny Moon Person trophy and coordinating Gucci by Tom Ford set. Her silky blue button-down and black trousers bared a shocking resemblance to Bieber's look. Madonna accessorized with a peek-a-boo mesh bra, a horsebit belt, and patent pumps instead of Bieber's peep-toe mules.

Minutes before the clock struck midnight, Bieber delivered her final look of the day. She channeled the '80s once again—not the decade's pop icons, but rock-and-rollers.

Bieber styled a leather jacket as a top, cinching its thick belt around her waist. It looked sleek alongside a satin slip skirt, also in black. A black top-handle bag and slingback Saint Laurent heels finished the monochrome theme.

According to TheRealReal's 2025 Resale Report, '80s maximalism is on the rise. Think: high-contrast color palettes, statement shoulders, slinky fabrics, and geometric patterns. Basically any Madonna look is the blueprint, even for Bieber.

Who knows? Maybe she'll revive another Madonna moment at the 2025 MTV VMAs this weekend. Justin Bieber is nominated for Best Pop Artist, so a red carpet walk from the couple isn't out of the question.
